Having more responses to our topics increases the CHANCE of increasing earnings

Singapore

First, tell me if you are the type to reply back to all responses to your topic? If yes, your earnings will definitely increase, because you are typing and contributing to the contents, you are working hard for it. Therefore, the more responses, the higher your earnings, since you replied back 100% If no, then note the word CHANCE, you could have earned by replying, but you forgo the opportunity, so it is not reflected in the earnings. So, what do you think of my observation? Is this valid for you?

Hallo Bluemoon I certainly agree with your observations given that you also privide 100% good quality on the responses... My experience is that I earn more for my quality answers compared to just a few words or one sentnece.

It is exactly as you are saying a shame that they miss the keypoint of mylot, that some people just take this for an easy place to earn money without having to wait on th timer that expires... But no mylot is much more than earning money, mylot is a place where you share oppinions and learn from others

Hi Downwindz, Yes, quality is very important. A lot of knowledge can be shared and many issues can be ironed out through discussions like these and only if one says something of substance.

Yes, they are missing the point totally. I have always wanted to start a discussion on that but after doing a search, seems like there are many similar ones already. Sadly, many people are not taking note of this.

Hi dear, I am a type of person to be maximum loyal to the things what I would do. I used to post 2 or 3 post every day. But I am trying to respond to my friends discussions. If i have made any post, I am 100% sure that I will respond to it. The life blood of this entire episode and thrill of the same itself is respond to our quires only. I enjoy to responding to my posts. It has been observed that some of our friends would make 8-10 posts and even if we respond to it, no one will respond to it. However, it is a sum of all. we have all the options in this. But make use of the same with maximum best combination is our success. For that, as you said, understand the underlined facts are a must. Best regards, Thank-s

Hi thanks! Sometimes I am so caught up in commenting back to responses on my posts that I forgot to respond to friends' topics, especially when I did not log in and when I come back there are many new posts. I try to make it a point to check on new discussions started by friends and respond to them. Yes I have also noticed that some people like to start many topics at one go but seldom go back to comment. I would respond to some of the more interesting ones but usually I don't like to be left cold like that. I say they are just harming their own earnings and not able to interact well with their friends. They are the ones to lose out! Have a nice day,

hi bluemoonpavilion I am so far behind but yes of course it really ups our chances of increaded earnings and I always try to comment back as quickly as I can to all the many responses to my discussions. I owe it to all the kind people who resonded to me to keep the discussion going as without intake and out put the discussion would just sit there and die so to sp eak.

Hi Hatley, Of course you are far behind, your topics always get a lot of responses! I do see you hard at work commenting back to everyone and that's definitely how you earn. Yes, I appreciate everyone who respond to me, it keeps the discussion active and opened to further discussion.

i indeed agree.. Sometimes i do not create new discussion, but rather just made comments to others topic or acknowledged those who also made comments with my own discussion, and when i check my earnings, it increases. So enjoy earnings while communicating.

Hi lhenpaule, Welcome to mylot! We can make earnings either by posting our topics or responding to others' topics. My observation is, when we post topics, if we comment back to responses, our earnings will increase. Yes, we enjoy earnings while we are communicating with others, what a wonderful way this site works!

hi, i am new at mylot, yes as far as i know, if you response you earn. is it true that you need to respond or to have at least 30 replies in order start a blog. can anyone clear me with this? i like to earn more.

Hi Reneelao, Welcome! Sorry, I can't answer your question regarding blogs here as I am not too familiar with it, haven't tried it so far. As for earnings here, definitely you can earn as you make responses and comments. The key point here is to post QUALITY content and not just quantity. Hope this helps you. Enjoy mylotting.

Yes, you are EXACTLY right. YOU type, YOU earn...I type, I earn.....that's basically how it works. You earn for the first response you respond back to each person (if you go back and forth with the same person 20 times, you don't earn for all those responses, just the first response pays) Sometimes I don't respond back to everybody because sometimes I just have something to say, and sometimes I feel like I'm just repeating myself....but I'm not here for the money, if I was, I would respond back to everyone.

"You earn for the first response you respond back to each person (if you go back and forth with the same person 20 times, you don't earn for all those responses, just the first response pays)" Where does that information come from sconi? I can assure you that you will earn for all your comments. I had a chain woth over 100 comments back and forth with sanuanu last year and that was all we did - and we earnt for it. As long as it is within the guidelines it all earns fpor whoever is doing the typing and furthering the topic, exactly like we are told to do in the FAQs.

Diana, Thanks for clarifying that. I was just wondering about sconibear's response...according to what I know we will earn for everything we type, as long as there's some content and not just a one liner like "thanks". bear, I guess you are more concerned about quality than quantity. For me, I will respond back to everybody even just to show recognition and appreciation, and if they don't make sense!

Hi bluemoon! For the length of time I have been here you would think that I should know the answer to that question, but I don't! I have never quite gotten that point straight. Some say we do earn when we respond to a response and some say we don't! For me, the point is since I very rarely start discussions when I do no matter how many response I get I honestly try to respond to almost all of them (if they make sense and I can respond)lol. I am doing it because I want to. That is what a discussion is about, having a "dialog" of sorts. I wish I could think of more things to start discussions on, but I seem to have "writer"s block" and it's sad because I used to love to write and I still do only in a responders form usually!

The FAQs by myLot tell us this: "post discussions, respond to discussions, comment on discussions, or perform searches. Post quality content. For example, generate discussions that engage other users and provide insightful responses and comments to other users discussions to further the topic" http://www.mylot.com/o/faq/faq6.aspx#14

Opal....Having a "dialogue" is definitely one of the fun parts here, I always enjoy the back and forth banter between friends and I don't care if I don't earn for the one-liners too when I just can't resist teasing somebody Diana....The faq guru forever! Thanks always!

Ofcourse, the more active you are the more you will earn - unless you're not cheating and posting quality posts. Well chances are that if a discussion topic grabs the attention of many and frequently, you may earn quite a lot.

To me myLot simply epitomizes and rekindles the simple values of diligence and hardwork. We are paid for what we pen down irregardless of the number of comments or best responses we received. Having more responses would only increase our chances of increasing our earnings and nothing more because we are not paid for that. It is only by working and penning down our thoughts in responding to those discussions that would only get us paid. And for that I would agree with you blue.

binggaling, thanks for the explanation, I do hope new users would take note of this. Absinto, yes, that is the whole point of starting a discussion in the first place, to know about what others feel or think about a subject, then feedback on how we feel about their responses.

hi bluemoonpavilion, yes, i always reply back to my responses. once i got a 15 cent bonus. i'm not quite sure why though, the box did not tell me what it was for. it is really difficult to figure out how they reward mylotters. i am sure they do not want us to know what their reward system is.

2 Sep 10
Hi kristin, Welcome to mylot! You have grasped the key to making more earnings for yourself here. That is a good start! I may be wrong but I thought bonus is only given for searches done on mylot here. My rewards were always for that. So, you can actually use it as a search engine. Well, nobody knows how the reward system works or how our earnings are calculated, just be sure that if you type quality posts, you will be much rewarded here, whether in terms of earnings, or friendship.
• Singapore
3 Sep 10
hello again kristin, Good to see you respond back! Make your discussion topics and try your best to respond to everyone, if you run dry of topics, just browse around for interesting ones and post responses and comments to others' topics. You will find that your earnings will increase a lot as time goes by. Mylot has been around for years and seems like even the senior members are unable to figure out how the system works. But it doesn't, just post and post, you will see that it's worth your time and effort.

2 Sep 10
hi bluemoonpavilion, you may be right. i use the mylot search engine all the time. yesterday i tried to spend 90% of my time posting and today when i logged on i was surprised to see that i had made 10 cents without barely any effort at all. i think i will post more often. maybe i might be able to make even more than that. maybe we'll all figure out the reward system so that we can maximize our earnings.:)

You have labeled it correctly. If you are contributing and commenting on responses in your discussions there is a very good chance your earnings will increase, IF you are posting quality comments. On MyLot we get paid for what we personally do.

Commenting back to responses on out own disussions is one chance to earn and there is another chance too. We earn when we comment back to responses on disussions by others. For example, while reading the responses before leving our own, if we comment that will earn for us too. Every time we further the topic we are earning. That is all that some of us do
@mysdianait (66009)

2 Sep 10
Indeed the 'add comment' button would not be there if it had no purpose Something else too while we are on about discussing: just as long as the response is on topic, if the later comments that appear in the chai9n seem to divfert away from the main topic iut doesn't matter, as long as it is all relevant to the main topic itself.
• Singapore

Sounds like there are some techniques here after all. Good topics are those that will invite many responses and in depth input from others.

Your observation is correct. The more responses or post you do the greater chance of earning more. But there is something that I would like to add. The important thing to consider is content quality. With good quality you will certainly have the edge. Many new ones tend to post as many as they can hoping to get more earnings. They may earn but later on stop considering their frustrations of low earnings. So the key is to enjoy each post and learn from the post instead of counting how many post has been done.. by doing these, you will certainly enjoy and last here in mylot. Don't worry, the earnings will always follow.
• Singapore
9 Sep 10
Hi jpso, Thanks for explaining that. Your response is so inspiring to read. Sometimes we are so concerned about how many post we made and how much we made per post that we lost our heads! The key point here and also which you pointed out, is actually to enjoy the process, when one is happy, quality stuff surely comes out and makes it enjoyable for others to read and respond too.

I believe that if our discussions gets a lot of responses, we are building up a good amount of traffic, does giving us the opportunity to earn more. I have noticed that whenever my discussions gets a lot of responds, my earnings are wuite on a high. So I try to make good and interesting discussions that may attaract others attention. Of course, I never forget to post responses on other members discussions too.

Yes, you are right. But doing so means you have put all the eggs in one basket. So if the discussion is deleted, you can imagine what your mood will be, how frustrated. I just experienced once a week ago. One of my discussion was deleted. 30+ comments as well as the discussion vanished soon, thing followed was a big decrease in my earning.

Oh, I didn't see it that way. Of course I have my fair share of topics being deleted. It is ok to me because I managed to read all the answers and so know about people's opinions on that particular topic. I'm just sorry that I implicated others too.

(the forum exemplary....we are self-acclaimed ) I do not take it to heart for having my responses or discussion deleted, something must have gone wrong somewhere! Rather than fuming about it, I would go on and start a new one, hoping to keep within the lines this time
