Tags ...whats the real use ?

Apart from what is said about tags on the related page here ,do we really use the tags ? if yes..how & when ?

The tags are so that any other discussion with the same tags will appear at the bottom of the screen. It is supposed to help you view other discussions that might be of interest to you. :)
