do you add friends on here to get a better rating?

it seems that the more friends a person has, the better their rating. Is it one of those "you scratch my back, i'll scratch yours" type of deals? Like you make a "friend" and then you guys give each other best responses just to get better ratings? I also notice that some people get the best responses when they don't even answer the questions asked appropriately. It would seem that mylot would have a way of preventing people from helping out their friends like this.

I think I have too many friends in my list but for some reason I can't delete them. I have just over 40 now but less than 10 of them ever bother to visit my discussions. I have seen people here with ratings around 100 who have over 1000 friends. They only make discussions but hardly ever respond to others. Those people are letting others scratch their back but not returning the favour.

I don't know how many friends I have. Hopefully you can remove friends from your list.

does it really helps? If it helps why not but If it doesn't it's fine, I love having many friends ;)
