It looks like John Boehner is looking to take over the gavel. What do you think? I think he would make a good speaker. There is also a question of any of the newer "young guns" taking the gavel. Which would you prefer, Boehner or somebody else?

I agree, anyone would be better than Pelosi. But given a choice, I'm hoping it will be new blood...I'm tired of the old Republican blood too.

Yeah, but I can't think of his name for the life of me. He's a younger guy with dark hair. Does that help?

At this point, anybody but Nancy Pelosi would be an excellent change.

Not a big Boehner fan, too many repubs are as big government as the democRats. But I can't help but agree with Sierra.

Not necessarily voting for the person rather voting against the other?

Hands down Ron Paul would be a better person to hold that gavel. Don't get me wrong, Pelosi is ALMOST the worst person who could hold it, but I'd rather someone a bit less in bed with the party than Boehner having that position.

You mean John "the tanned wonder" Boehner? This just shows you how screwed up Ohio is, people in southern Ohio overwhelming vote for a man that looks like he hasn't SEEN Ohio in decades, and spends very little to NO time on Ohio. I am sure the first thing he will do is have a tanning bed installed right on the floor, that way he can tan and work (if you call what these guys do as work), at the same time. I personally don't think he worthy of being speaker of the house, but it isn't like I will have a say in the matter, so who cares?

We-eee-lll. Months ago, I called his office when hints of this were being made. I informed them that he could be speaker almost instantly IF ONLY Congress, or at least the Republicans, would simply tell the truth and remove the ineligible usurper and Nancy Pelosi to jail for treason. Since it didn't happen, I don't have a lot of hope that a free election will soon or maybe ever occur. Absent the realities of the peril we are in, I think he'd make a good speaker.
