Talking about housework, I'm very frustrated. The problem is this. My mother always tell me to mop the floor and it's become a daily business!!! I always told her that it wasn't necessary to mop the floor everyday as it'll get dirty. Maybe just mop thrice a week will do but she insists on mopping it everyday. I've choice but to throw my temper, then mop the floor. What do you guys think?

It is quite silly what some parents come up with that needs to be done every day. Maybe your mom just enjoys seeing the shine every day. I would think nothing of it and just mop the floor, use this as a bigger reason to get out on your own so you can clean when you want, but don't be surprised if you don't end up mopping your own floor every day. Some chores are just better done every day as it's easier to keep up with and you won't fall behind with them...

Perhaps your mom likes to have a super clean environment, so she has such a requirement to you. I personally think it is not necessary to mop the floor everyday. It is really alright to mop the floor once or twice weekly. But you have to try to tell your mom your thoughts in peace. I don't want you to lose your temper because it will just let everything become worse and your mom will be hurtful to it. I love China

It is just normal to do a housework at home. As a member of the family, you should do your share on doing a housework. You should not complain because it is for your own good also. It is not right if you are doing a housework for your neighbor.

Haha, yea. Doing housework for a neighbour is definitely a big NO NO.

The idea is, once you have your own kids - you don't have to do the housework.

stop complaining and start doing the work. would like to see your mom map the floor knowing that you can do it for her. And that's good talk to your mom that cleaning the floor everyday is over! but still dont get angry to mom. maybe she sees that you are not doing something that is why she ask you to do something productive,,, PEACE!!!

Maybe there's a reason behind it. Did you ask her why she wants the floor mopped everyday? Maybe it's some life lesson about sometimes having to do things that may seem stupid, but you do it without complaint, and you'll be rewarded. Or maybe she's just trying to give you a physical activity to keep you from getting fat. Or maybe she's teaching you some karate moves. Wax on, wax off.

LOL. She tells me that I have to mop the floor because it's very dirty, because we live near a lot of factories so that's why the smoke from the chimneys dirty the environment and eventually dirties the floor.

I don't think that it is proper to mop the floor everyday especially if you're not using a good cleaning reagents. Cleaning the floor everyday can immune microbes in it if the cleaning agent is not varied. So I think it is wise to plan your cleaning to protect your house from unwanted visitors such as germ and bacteria.

Yea. But the cleaning reagent is quite good. It has a better germ killing chemical. So I guess there won't be any problems.

Cleaning does suck, but unfortunately it has to be done! I would never mop my floor daily. I just don't have the time or patience for it. Plus, I don't think my floor possibly gets dirty enough to be mopped daily! LOL Maybe come up with a few points in your favor to throw out there at her and see if she'll change her mind about your having to mop it EVERY day. If not, I guess if not, ya gotta do what ya gotta do to keep mom happy!

Well, when someone is used to have a clean surroundings that is the best reason why your mom always asks you to mop the floor. Yes,it is common knowledge that no matter how we clean the floors it still get dirty after cleaning it,and,it is also a must to clean the dirt away. It may sounds stupid for you,but it good to always have a good and clean house to lived at.

Hi, Are you the only child at home? Since your mother insisted you to mop the floor everyday, then you may have a good chat with her. Let make a proper schedule for housework, then only everyone at home feel comfortable with it. If you do have few siblings at home and they are old enough to carry the burden of doing housework, then it will be good to come out with a schedule on who is mopping the floor, and doing other houseworks.

To be honest, I miss doing house chores. I spend a lot of hours in a day at work and I sleep a lot during my rest day. Sometimes I feel guilty not doing house chores unlike before. My mom is very understanding and do a lot of things for me as if I'm still a child which is not.

Just keep in mind your doing that for the family and nothing more. If you think that way, you're not counting the deeds you've done because it's for the family or whatever.

It sounds like quite alot to mop it everyday, here in the house it is only done once a week - and we find it sufficient, but maybe it also depends if you have smaller children in the house or if you dont take your shoes off.

Nothinh bad about that, your mother has to discipline you,not that she can't do it herself, but when you grow up and live with a roommate for example, and you don't do nothing, don't you think he would be angry? :)
