I’m prepared to bet my bottom dollar that you’re contending with one or more of the following issues right now: A dog that doesn’t seem able to grasp even the basics of housetraining and pees and poops all over the house – particularly if it’s cold or wet outside. Excessive crying, whining and yapping, particularly when left home alone. A dog that will only respond to obedience training when he feels like it. A dog that won’t leave you alone when you’re in the house insists on sleeping on your bed and constantly pesters you for attention.A dog that is either nervous of meeting new people or else jumps up at you, your family, visitors and everyone it meets. A dog that is either nervous of meeting new people or else jumps up at you, your family, visitors and everyone it meets. A dog that is very protective of you and may growl and show it’s teeth at anyone else who comes near you. Refusing to come back when called – there are far too many other interesting sights and smells. Pulling on the leash and lunging after other dogs. A dog that won’t leave you alone when you’re in the house and constantly pesters you for attention. A dog that is possessive with its food and toys and may show aggression if you try to take them away. Unacceptable ‘mouthing’ – biting on your (or someone else’s) hands, feet and clothing. A dog that is stubborn and wilful and refuses to listen to what you say Scavenging and begging for food. No matter how much you love your Shih Tzu, it can make your life a misery. And let’s face it, it’s SO hard to get cross with a Shih Tzu…they’re just too cute! BUT, "Just like a child, if you fail to communicate with your Shih Tzu in a way he understands, your life will become a constant battle of wills."

A dog that doesn’t seem able to grasp even the basics of housetraining and pees and poops all over the house – particularly if it’s cold or wet outside. ‘Raises hand” Excessive crying, whining and yapping, particularly when left home alone. A dog that will only respond to obedience training when he feels like it. Definitely. He hates the leash. A dog that won’t leave you alone when you’re in the house insists on sleeping on your bed and constantly pesters you for attention. ‘nods’ A dog that is either nervous of meeting new people or else jumps up at you, your family, visitors and everyone it meets. Dunno about this. Mine’ shy and polite, I guess A dog that is very protective of you and may growl and show it’s teeth at anyone else who comes near you. Not yet but I kinda hope Refusing to come back when called – there are far too many other interesting sights and smells. A dog that won’t leave you alone when you’re in the house and constantly pesters you for attention. Hear, hear Unacceptable ‘mouthing’ – biting on your (or someone else’s) hands, feet and clothing. Don’t remind me No matter how much you love your Shih Tzu, it can make your life a misery. And let’s face it, it’s SO hard to get cross with a Shih Tzu…they’re just too cute! In complete agreement.
