Do you read cartoons?

It is the most interesting part in a newspaper. Next comes the sudoku. The rest is all rubbish. I have to turn so many pages of riot, massacres, corruptions before getting to my most favorite part, the cartoons. I love witty cartoons. I hate newspapers that don't have cartoons. This is why I don't like financial newspapers. They rarely have cartoons. What about you guys? Do you still read cartoons?

hi getbiswa! lol! i guess e have same sentiments on the contents of most newspapers...all crimes and bad news and problems... but anyway, whenever i read a newspaper i always go on the entertainment page where there's the horoscope, crossword puzzles and sudoku (although i am not playing it) and yes those cartoons! i like them too! its fun reading those specially if its those funny ones. I also like reading comics and i miss it already that's why i just read those cartoons/comic strips on newspapers. when i as younger and when we are also living in a place where there's no internet yet, reading those section of the newspaper is my favorite past time next to watching tv!

that is perhaps because you're grown up now. You don't frequent places you used to visit as a child.

They should be the first section, and I call it "the philosophy section." "Rose is Rose" is my current favorite, with very unique perspective in her artwork.

Of course you have it, love, on the Internet. http://comics.com/rose_is_rose/ Yes, reading them online may be a different feel, but that will be another topic.

Garfield is funny when it steals. One heck of a glutton. The cartoons that are published in the newspaper are very witty. That's what I like about them.

Hello biswa, I like to read cartoons and play sudoku too.. But for some reasons, accidents and road mishaps happen to catch my attention sooner.

I completely agree voldi. Accidents are useful for automobile engineers. As the vehicle is totally disassembled, the engineer can see the parts more intensely. If we sell them tickets for such exhibitions we can always earn something.

I read the cartoon section of the newspaper every once in a while, but they stink compared to comic books and graphic novels.
• India

Oh yes, these cartoons are nothing compared to graphic novels. But those graphic novels are quite serious thing. Most of them are about beating some villains. But cartoons are witty, funny, even when they are political. Isn't that something?

Hi, Books will never loose their charms. No matter how resourceful the internet becomes in future, books will always be admired. I still miss those comic strips I used to read in my childhood. I don't know where those books are now. Today most of my reading is done on my computer, yet I miss flipping through those funny looking, colorful pages. Thanks for this wonderful response. God bless you.

Hey biswa, that is me too. I hate reading the political news too. The first on my list is the Toons Section then the Sudoku and I wrap it up with the Jumble. I have thought so many times why don't they just get some weekly paper containing just more of these and no news of any kind...

Hi, Unfortunately in India there is no such standard magazine for kids. I mean, there are plenty comic books published each week, but doubt whether they are able to provide wit and moral at the same time. When I was a child I used to buy comic strips and regular cartoon issues, but as I grew up, I found lack of wit in those stuffs. So finally, I had to rely on newspapers. Thanks so much for your response. God bless you.

Hi biswa, i will not read news paper regularly, i will read only cartoons, puzzles and the fun page. I will get bore and feel sad of reading all crimes, corruption, accidents. But there is a page in the middle of the newspaper, which contains history of the day on this date and about inventions or news about great people, some times sports also i will read. Have a good day.

Hi, I personally hate reading sports news. I think we've switched our position chronologically. What is disgusting about these newspapers is that whatever is negative, demoralizing is put in the front pages and anything that is encouraging, positive is printed inside, and if possible, at the bottom of the pages. For example, the news of Pakistani players being caught in booking scandal is at the front page. But the news of an elderly person winning his 10 year long fight against corruption finds its place in somewhere in the middle. This is really humiliating. Cartoon is the sole thing that is worth reading. Thanks so much for your response. God bless you.

yes,too much violence is all most can be seen in a newspaper, makes one individual feel that too much violence is always part of our daily lives. i do read cartoons in newspapers.that's the time i make myself laugh for a while. yeah,i even read cartoons which are in books or here in the internet. it's nice to have a laugh with those drawings and jokes they shared. i think there are also drawings which are really funny even without the joke itself.haha

Absolutely. Cartoons are funny, especially the ones that are published in daily newspapers. Even when it is political, it is funny. Even it is derogatory, it is humorous. This is the most wonderful thing about cartoon. No matter how you depict a person, he is not supposed to take it seriously. Thanks.

I love the comics, but anymore it seems like my favorites are being discontinued for new ones. i just dont like the new ones as much. Cathy and Brenda Starr both told stories. now, it just seems like it is a one off and not as entertaining. i love political cartoons. They do a great job of summing up the problems of the world with just a sketch and a caption.

I agree with you that cartoons is an interesting (not yet most interesting) part in a newspaper. I love witty cartoons to. and so do I hate newspapers that don't have cartoons. And I still read cartoons.

I have to admit that I'm really interested in reading cartoons. It's never really been something that I'm interested in reading on a daily or regular basis. I might read one occasionally, but it's nothing more than that. It's just not something that I'm interested in reading.
