I have a new GRANDDAUGHTER!!! / myLot

YIPPEE!!! Finally Sofía Elena decided to come to this world. She is quite beautiful, considering that she´s not 24 hours of age yet. Claudia, mt daughter, seemed rested a couple of hours after giving birth and all went wonderfully. She is perfectly healthy and 3 and a half kilos: a wonderful weight for a baby. She is the second girl in the family. The rest of the generation are boys. I think I have done my share. It seems that there are more women than men nowadays

I am VERY happy and so is everyone. I will post pictures as soon as I have them.

I´ll take pictures of her when they are home, Jo. But I´ll ask Rafael (the father) to send me some of the pictures he took yesterday. I had to tell him he´d hurt the baby´s eyes- He took a picture of her with everyone

Hiya margi, Same names as the Queen of Spain and the Infanta Elena those are lovely names to call her. Congratulations to all of you and to the very tiny one as well. You must all be very happy with her. Queen Sofia and Elena are both really nice People so she made a very good choice there. Congrats again.

It must be a great feeling to have this new little girl added to the family. Babies are wonderful, and a special joy for the grandparents - they have done their part and raised the parents of the baby and now they can enjoy their grandchildren without having the main responsibility!! Thank you! Yes, I will not change a single diaper as my back hurts. But I will play with Sofía and tell her stories when she´s big enough.

Thanks Maxine. Claudia seemed rested 3 hours after giving birth, when I went so see her.And the baby is beautiful and a good size and weight

Only the father had the right to take pictures yesterday. I wouldn´t have dared: I even told him he´d hurt the baby´s eyes with the flash

. So I´ll take pictures when Claudia is back home and will do it where there´s natural light. The baby has light skin but very dark hair. I´m waiting to see what will happen to that with time. My own hair turned white

Congratulations to you on your new grandmotherhood and to your daughter for the excellent job of bringing a new baby into the world. I must say I'm a bit envious of you. I never had any girls of my own and I've already told my sons that I want a granddaughter as soon as they think they're ready. Also, the sooner the better. LOL I hope you get pictures soon! I can´t wait for Sofía to grow up a bit. My eldest grandchild is also a girl. I can still remember that she had definite tastes in what to wear when she was 3

. Now that she´s 19, she puts on anything. I´m waiting to see what this little princess will want. I guess she will be the last of the grandchildren as my daughter are not so young anymore.

That is wonderful news, congratulations to you and your family. I love the name. I wanted to call our daughter Elena or Sofia because we live in Spain, but she didn't look like either of those when she arrived.

I told my graughter what you said and she said she hadn´t thought of that but shewas interested in Sofía being a greek name. She had also checked Elena and it was also greek. And now that I´m answering to you, I remembered that Queen Sofía came from Greece. My Sofía has light complexion and very dark hair. She might be a royal Sofía
