I don't know about you but I don't like going to the Doctor unless I'm in real pain or something just doesn't feel right. I usually go about twice a year. Some people go for every little ache....."Sniffles,a blister on there toe,a zit on there nose". Do you see the Doctor for every little Boohoo or only if you really need to?. Some people use there Doctor just to get out of work...I could never find one like that

Hi, missybear. I don't go to the doctor for every little thing. I usually will treat my aches and pains at home. If it is minor. I do the same thing with my kids too. If it is serious, I will make sure that I go to the doctor. I don't go to the doctor every time that I get sick. It has to be something that is odd and that is worrying me, in order for me having to go.

Now that our insurance changed I probably go less..if that's possible. They went up from $10 a doctors visit to $25

Hi missybear! I am so like you...I also hate going to the doctor especially when its just a simple case of colds and slight fever. I hate the idea of putting myself in the mercy of a doctor...i don't know why but I am very skeptic and apprehensive especially when they might give me a wrong diagnosis hehehe. I know doctors are human, too and definitely they are not perfect. I think the cases I've read about medical practice made me think this way..hmmm sort of. So like you (again) most of my appointment with the doctors are caused by mandatory annual physical exams and in rare cases when I am feeling terribly ill. And thank goodness the latter seldom happens. I always pray for good health and I also try my best to keep myself healthy. :D I hope you are well. Let's stay healthy :D ...Have a good day and happy mylotting!

I'm doing pretty good Thank you. I have a kink in my neck right now so I can't turn my head to the right. It hurts but not bad enough to see the Doctor. I'm gonna try some hot and cold heat and ice packs and some over the counter stuff and see what happens. Our doctor visits jumped from $10 to $25 so now I really have to watch it.

I very seldom see a doctor, and I am usually pretty sick or have a pretty big medical need. I find that any time I go to the doctor, or if I, for instance, visit a friend in the hospital or take someone to the emergency room, I get sick. I catch whatever viruses are going around. Medical facilities are after all where sick people are. I find I am healthier all the way around.

Nope!! like you, I only go and see a doctor if it is really necessary. But I know some people who always go to the doctor even in just simple sickness that can be treated st home like just a blister or a normal coughing, they will see a doctor for that? Nope not me.

well i never been to go the doctor since one year ago maybe. if only flu or headache i wouldn't go to the doctor. it is expensive here to see the doctor frequently. so it is better to save it for another needs.

I try to stay away from the drs if i can help it.I try to treat any problems myself rather than go to the drs.I have been told off before,by the dr for not going to him sooner,as i could have been treated quicker, aswell as out of pain.I do think that there are alot of people that are going to the drs for silly things, like colds.

Most the stuff I can get over the counter now so I try that first before I go to the Dr. When I woke up this morning I had a big rash in my face and I know what it is cause I had it before, I might have to see the Dr. now because the over the counter stuff like Hydocodzone don't work but the prescription I got for it last time worked right away. Bummer though cause our medical went up last month.

I don't like going to doctors. I never liked it when I lived in the USA and I really don't like to go now that I live in Nicaragua. In this country I have a real distrust of their credentials. I need to go to a doctor right now but I just don't trust anyone enough to put my life in their hands. I guess I really should go looking for a good doctor, I just fear getting a bad one.

That's part of my problem too...I can't find a good one. I switched doctors three times over the last couple years. Some just left and 1 was a real jerk.

here where i live, we have social medicine so it doesnt cost anything to go see the doctor. i find because of this, a lot of people do that because they want the social interaction and the doctor then doesnt have time to see people that are really sick. to that end, i have gone to the doctor for legitimate concerns every other week for a month or so.

I used to go to the doctor lot. For one, I was getting allergy shots once a month. And I think I used to get a lot more colds in those days. I also had health insurance. When I lost my job and lost my coverage, the allergy shots stopped. I was always afraid of stopping them in case I regressed, but that hasn't happened and they have better allergy medicines today than they used to. (and I only need a pill evey nowand then.) One thing that got me about medical coverage, at one pont I had a $1000 deductable before my coverage kiccked in. At one visit my doctor charged me a little extra, saying it would help me get though my deductable faster. That's always made me wonder how much waste there is in medical expenses where doctor's feel they can charge more, knowing that you have insurance.

There are lots of over the counter medicines now a day so lots of times you don't need to see a doctor. Like you I have allergies and my doctor prescribed me some pills. $35 it would have cost me. The Pharmacist told me just to get some other over the counter pills that work just the same. That was nice of him...it saved me almost $20 and it did the trick.

Well, for me I only went to the doctor when I'm really that sick! For some small ailments, I'll just watch over my diet and hope that I'll get well soon. If it doesn't and get worse and dragged over a long period of time. Then I'll go to the doctor for diagnosis. Maybe it's because I don't really like visiting the doctor wasting money.

Most of the time they really don't even listen to my problem. Last time I went I wanted to be send to an ear nose throat doctor cause my ears been bothering me for quite a while, he said nothing is wrong with my ears and wouldn't give me a referral. That was a waste of money there.
