About the company where I work for and who was refusing to give us our 13th month pay, they finally decided to grant us what is for us. I said in my other discussion that we gave them a week to change their minds about the issue or else we are going to pursue with our complaint to DOLE. We are happy to know that they changed their minds after a day. I guess they were really scared of us or they are scared of the fact that they are wrong.

well it is fortunate. a lawsuit waiting to happen will generally bad for a company its good that they just gave in and not to drag it.

well for a company to have a lawsuit it would be so hard for most of their employees to go on strike with this kind of economy. and for one that they will certainly lose

I think its really good they decided to do that. The manager told us that the company lawyer said that we are not suppose to have our 13th month pay but I guess he was just bluffing. If that was really true then he should have fought for it but he didnt. We on the other hand know that we are suppose to have the 13th month pay and we fought for it and yeah, he changed his mind.

Thanks! Thanks to that person too who poked his head! I dont think he is going to have a brain damage either cause he already has it. lol Anyway, what's good is that we finally got what we deserve. But some of my coworkers want to do something about the taxes the we pay in the company.

Good for you! Great that you got what you earned and was rightfully yours and your colleagues.
I would understand if your employer is from the west where I know giving 13th month pays is not really common, but if that is the practice there in the Philippines and the only reason that your boss was trying to weasel out of it was because he was so cheap to give it, then it just right that they be afraid to be reported to employment officials!

They really were afraid. The company is owned by a Korean and run by a manager also from the Philippines but he doesnt have any training. The only reason why he became a manager was because the owner trusts him when it comes to money matters. He just made a wrong choice for refusing us our benefits and because of that he provoked our anger and we finally decided to make a complain to DOLE but good thing he changed his mind again. I really want to laugh at his face.

Congratulations to you. I think every company should grant their employees a 13th month bonus. Its really a good thing that you employees did something about it. Why did the company refuse to give their employees their 13th month pay?

The refuse to get give us our 13th month pay cause the manager told us that once an employee resigned before the end of the year then he or she is not granted his or her 13th month pay. But the law says we are still entitled to get our 13th month pay even if the case is like that. Our manager I guess was thinking that he can make a fool of us knowing that the other employees in the company before didnt do anything about it.

I hope the other companies that are still doing wrong things can follow your former one. Even though it was wrong, but we should appreciate the step.
I do hope that they scared because they realized doing something wrong.

You can say that again. I guess the manager was also scared of doing something wrong because he knows that we are in the right tract and that we are really going to fight for our rights. Its just that he made a very wrong move in trying to prove us wrong.
