Have You Ever Met Someone Online Who Is Now Your Best Friend?

Many days we meet people online. Maybe have chatted with them, posted discussions and responses with them, played a Game with them, did an Online Business with them, they were a customer of yours, or maybe met them in a Social Networking site as well. We meet many people from around the world, maybe in our own neighborhoods to where sometimes someone becomes a Good friend that we will want to eventually call on the phone and meet them as well.
Over the course of time over the last 10 yrs. or so that I have been online I have done a lot of Social networking with others and met so many wonderful people. Some of them via Chatrooms, game rooms, Online Businesses, or maybe even via sites like myLot as well. It is quite an interesting experience and makes me wish some of them I could eventually one day meet in person, while luckily over the yrs. some of them I actually have.
It is an interesting experience when you go from one site starting to talk and socialize with them more, sending them personal Emails, and messages to one day talking on the phone, and then in time going to meet them as well. I have over the course of this time met a lot of people I have done online Businesses with and many of them I can truly consider a Friend even more so today and getting a chance to meet them makes it more worthwhile. Yes, not everyone I met am I glad I got a chance to do so, but for the most part I could never trade my time getting to know them as well.
So how about you? Who have you met online, and are you still Good friends today or is it an experience you would rather forget to where you never want to consider trying it again as well.

Met yes, best friend... well... maybe not.
I joined a Lilian Jackson Braun yahoo group and about a year later a Brother John Thomas joined the group.
Several people asked him questions of a Roman Catholic nature and he told them he didn't know because he was a Western Rite Orthodox monk.
At that point I contacted him off list to ask where he was at and what church he was affiliated with.
Turned out his church was located in the nearest suburb to Austin and only a little north of where I live.
I had been searching for a church since the one I had gone to went Eastern Rite and then closed.
I don't get there as much as I might like, today I woke with a headache and the first time I've been out of the house all day was in the last half hour (after 8 p.m.)

You are still feeling kind of under the weather, I guess. If it is not better tomorrow you assured several of us that you would seek some medical attention.

Sorry to hear that you are not feeling good, and Sorry to hear that the one Church closed. Yes, not everyone you meet in person from online will be a Good friend but that should not Stop you from wanting to get to know others and eventually meet.

Well, as I had said, I had quit going because it had gone Eastern Rite - honestly, the furthest east my family go is Germany, so I really didn't like it - besides, after fasting all night, I really wasn't up to standing (and besides, I couldn't stand) for another 3 hours.
I tell folks that my biological and genetic "memory" only goes as far east as Germany so this Eastern Rite left me cold.

I am pleased with the online friends I have met in person. I have met one here in Kansas, one in Oklahoma, and one in Minnesota. As time permits, I would certainly like to meet more. Wouldn't it be great to tour the country, or the world, socializing with our online friends.

i would Love to be able to travel around more and meet some more of my Online friends. People here from myLot, Facebook and many of the other online Social networking sites or online Business things I have done. For me being able to really put a face to a name we get to know here online makes it so worthwhile.

Yes I have got a lot of good Friends online to and have had over the Years
I have met a few of them and we get on great
Next year I will be meeting a wonderful Friend and I can't wait, she is traveling to the UK and after all these years I will see her in Person
I talk to a lot of my Friends by Phone to
Sometimes it makes me sad that they live in another Country as I know with some of them I will never meet them but I am so glad that they are in my Life

. she is warm hearted, and wonderfully easy to know and talk with, I was so thrilled to meet her as we had talked through discussions so many times over the last few years. She and her boyfriend left Calif for Georgia as he can get work down there. She was here visiting her ailing mom when she came to see me, and I really loved her, she is just a really sweet person and I felt blessed to have actually talked to her face to face.

well. I have met some truly wonderful people here on the Lot.
I don't go on any other sites. I have some people that I do
correspond with off of the site. Some I email and we have an
ongoing friendship that has continued for the 3 years I've
been here. I have one very special friend that I have been
lucky enough to speak to on the phone from the UK from time
to time and I love her so! I enjoy the friends that I have
made here and they are very important to me! There are so
many that I wish I could meet and I am hoping that someday

I don't know...there are a few people that I have befriended through here and maybe send an email to every now and again but other than that I wouldn't say that we are best friends because I haven't talked to them outside of a funny email and nothing more than their screen name on here...There are a few that I would say I flock to more than others on herebut I think that is just because they are on my friends list and I read their discussions more so even though we are not friends I feel like I know them more just through their discussions...

Yes I think a lot of us can relate to this one, and actually can consider a couple of people here closer than others to where some people we really feel as if we know them. I know there are some here I do talk more with than others. And even if we never meet it is worth while being here.

Well it's strange but believe it or not, i met this guy on the internet, at first we are friend, but after a year i get to know him, get closer day by day, now he is becoming my lovely ones, i love him, and we have some plan to be more serious than before 
So, internet is just a media to get socialized, but it is depend on the person who you met, the rest is up to each one of us

i have some best and close friends in online,but how far they are believing me,i do not know ,but i am sincere to them,what ever i can offer i can do it to them with out any hesitation,i am straitforward person, i too met two are three online friends over phone only, when the occassion come to ask help for some thing either it may be a very little monitary help or some technical help, they are showing their behavier and in that juncture one of my friend left me recently,so i have not find any open minded friend in online,i do not know how you have got that much good friends, so mistake is with me,have a nice day

I have meet yes and he is my best friend now. We had a deep friendship and we are happy together as friends. And I had a lot more friends. I am happy now talking with them knowing about their culture, likes and dislikes. Sometimes talking to them makes more exciting as I am talking to them live.. Just full of curiosity but still it's wonderful to have them. Have a nice day!

Recently due to many happenings that there are often scammers and fakers that pretend to add you through msn or facebook just to get to know you and then cheat you. Due to this many incidents happening, therefore many of us start to become more careful with adding people. So I don't think I will ever meet a stranger online. The chance of having someone becoming my best friend from online is rather small.

Hi Tina! Well, I've never been lucky in love. Anyone I met locally, in a pub or through friends, never worked out so I often wondered if I would meet someone better outside my home Town.
In September 2001, I bought the computer I am still using to this day (although it was extremely trendy for the time, LCD screen, upgradable memory, to name but two features it had) and began chatting online a few months later.
I wanted to find someone who could type and not ask for my bra size in the first sentence (there were a lot of those) and, due to being fed up with AOL I went into - what was then, a Freeserve chat room..and chatted to the guy I was subsequently going to marry. It took me a few "mistakes" before coming across John and I didn't get to meet him until Easter 2003 but I can honestly say, he's exactly how he was in written word. He doesn't lie about himself and I don't either.
Before I actually met John in person my clairvoyant told me that I would meet someone "in an unconventional manner but it will work" and that I would probably marry him. He told me that he would be from Cumbria..and he is from Cumbria, Carlisle to be exact and it's 100 miles from my home Town. My clairvoyant also mentioned his first initial and the fact that he will "eventually have to travel to work." He got made redundant after we got married in April 2008 and has to drive to his current job, 20 miles each way.
So, chatting online DEFINITELY has its advantages. It depends on the intelligence of the two people chatting and what they want out of life.

me... i met my husband in the net... he first became ny friend, then my boyfriend, and then my husband... eheh!!! i always thank god that i met him. he was always my best buddy. right now were almost on our tenth year being husband and wife... right now were aiming the 20 years of relationship eheh... tnx to the net too!!!

Yes, I have met a few people who are now some of my best friends! three of them I have now known over 10 years and we still talk about many things, including the place which we met.
I don't know what I would do with out these friends who have even been there for me in more ways then my real life friends.

I cannot say I have, but I have made lots of nice friends. It makes hard decisions in life alot easier. I find it easier sometimes to discuss things with them.

I met a friend way back with whom I was really close.We awere thick friends.It was way back when the internet was not that prominent.We were pen pals and pretty close till we lost touch and contact.All of a sudden a few months back I got in touch with her again and was happy that we could be good friends again.But as time moves on people change and that bond we had years ago was no longer there.I have a few good friends online but I sould say I am not that close.It stays virtual and online.

I have only met up with two people here on mylot in person...Grandpa Bob and Ocean Tiara.....I met her last year when I went to New York...Grandpa Bob and I live in the same state so that was an easy one. I also met his daughter too....and it was fun! I don't have alot to do with them though as there are miles that seperate us. My grade school friend found me on facebook and when I went to Arizona this year I met her for coffee....it was like the years melted away and we are in contact all the time....there is one other mylotter I want to meet. Hopefully I will in the next few years. WE email each other on a regular basis.

My Mylot friends are very close to me. They're the only ones I know online. I've been here 3 years and some people here are sooo wonderful. GardenGerty, Peavy, Carmiellaurel, Elixbian (spelling of the last 2?),fjaril, the people that often answer my posts and I answer theirs. Lily of the ______________ I forget what was my first friend.

Mylot is the only site i go to but i feel that i have made many good friends on here, I have never met any of them but i sure would like to.
