Do you keep medical records?

Yesterday, I went for a check up. Need to have some test done and the doctor asked for my past medical records. It's good I've kept them, although they are all scattered in my files. The doctor recommended to keep it all in one folder and to have a medical diary. Mmm, I never thought about a medical diary. I think that's a good idea for us and for our kids. Like when did they have a check up, when did they get sick, what medications are given, last time they went to the dentist and all that stuffs... I'm proud to say I've kept all my medical records since 2005. It helps a lot. How about you?

Mine is just like yours too, all scattered in the files. I've not thought about that. But surely, A medical diary would be good to keep medical records. If that should help save our lives or at least easier to find a treatment, I should start doing it. And thanks for the reminder.

Hi Tomitomi! We can also do it for our kids. Like when was their last check up, what immunization they still need, last dental check up, next dental cleaning. I think it really helps to keep a medical diary.

Yes I do keep my medical records including my family members. My file is quite bulky because I still keep the medical records of my children since they were born in the 80's.

Hi! Well, that's great. Sometimes we change doctors and we do need our medical records from way back. most specially the immunization records of our kids. Keeping records really helps alot.

I must admit that I don't keep a copy of my medical records at home and no one else in my family does either. However, whenever we start at a new or different doctor's office, we do have all of the medical records transferred to the new doctor that we are seeing so that there is a complete medical file for the doctor to refer to. I know that we are legally allowed to have one copy of our records, but that would be weird for me to keep in the house.
