of course pupils should be allowed to pray in school, so long as they are not disrupting anyone elses time. in their own time at school, such as before classes or at lunchtime, they should be allowed to pray. whatever their religion might be. but pupils should not be led in prayer en masse, as the school probably contains pupils with a lot of different beliefs, and no one should be pushed to pray to someone elses God. it should not be school led. it should be a private matter for the pupils concerned, in their own time. not in lesson or assembly time.

Prayers should be allowed in public schools. From childhood they must be educated and practised about the power of prayers. Prayer is nothing but speaking with God. They feel joy in it. Its definitely relax their mind. Prayer will also give confidence, concentration, will power etc. If they have daily practise in prayers, there is no chance in failure and doing bad thing.

Hi jeyshjain, No one can stop prayer anywhere as prayer does not have to be spoken aloud. For me life itself is a prayer and the only one that really counts. I think it would be very difficult to have prayer in the sense that it was at one time. All denominations and religions would have to be treated equally and some people would not want that, although they would be very upset if they were shut out. It could be awhile before we all think as one. Blessings.

This has been a heated topic. The trouble is that there are so many religions and even denominations out there wanting there chance. I am not against prayer in school, but the way it is set up right now you'd have to allow every single religion their chance!
