Today, I went to the bank and withdrew 500 dollars to give to my mother to pay the bills. I still have it right now and I was thinking it would be so nice if I coul just blow it If I could use the five hundred without consequences then I would buy a airplane ticket and go to New York for a week. How about you? What would you do with five hundred?

I'll buy a video camera and make short films with it.

A video camera would be a fun thing to have. I used to play pretend bank robbery with my cousins and brother and it would have been cool if we had a video camera to record it Thanks for your response.

Wow, me and my cousins used to do that too. I would have probably recorded it if I had a camcorder in hand but I always die at the bank because I always get shot.

If I had 500 dollars to spend on whatever I wanted, I would probably by myself a really nice cosplay outfit to wear for the Anime Expo next year ;). And some cosplay wigs and if I had money left over I'd donate to my favorite animal help agency (:

I'm glad there are so many anime fans here on mylot. I've been to an anime event before and it was so cool seeing everyone dress up as their favorite anime character. I only wore a Naruto head ban and sprayed my hair pink but people called me Sakura nonetheless I hope you get a chance to get the outfit you want.

Yes, it's great meeting anime fans anywhere. Cosplaying Ouran must have been fun. Japanese school uniforms are so cool

HUmm $500 isnt much to me but its money. I think I would save it and let it build in my bank account and hopefully when the end of the year comes it will increase. Like banks do they five you a percentage for leaving that money in there and keeping it in your savings :P Well yeah New York is a very nice place I been there many times. Time Square. Rockfeller and etc Its a Beautiful city but too many people especially on new years haha. you cant even move on that day. haha

You mean like a certificate of deposit where you can't take the money out for a period? The interest on those things are definitely a lot higher than regular saving accounts and it would be a nice way to earn some money. It's great that you got to visit New York so many times. I hope I could go to New York sometime in the future. Happy Mylotting.

If I had $500 and I couldn't spend it on bills I would buy new clothes for my husband and I (he recently lost 40 lbs and needs them desperately) and go on a nice date,or maybe go to Vegas for a day or so and see some shows. It's only a 7 hour drive so we could get there easily. But I think that would be the nicest thing I could do for him and I.

Las Vegas would be a great place to go if you had some extra money to spend and I heard of many great shows there. Buying new clothes is great as well. I hope you and your husband find lovely things to do together even without the five hundred.

Ahah,a dollar is equal to 6.72 RMB now,so i'll have almost 3400 RMB. I'd like to take my girlfriend to HongKong like your plan, but i'm afraid we just could stay for one day.The two round-trip tickets cost 2800 RMB,i have just inquired online. And only 600 RMB were left,we could check in a cheap hotel, and then look around the old buildings and walk along the beach.Of course the Victoria Harbour would never be missed. So exciting.

Do you write or respond to another discussion taking about vacations? Hong Kong plane tickets are so expensive here and I wouldn't be able to get even one with 500 hundred dollars but visiting Hong Kong is definitely one of my goals to be achieved within three years. Happy mylotting.

Five hundred dollars is something that I would love to fall right into my hands at any moment. Not really because I have anything that I want to buy mind you. But there are a lot of times where I think that I could really use an extra couple of hundred dollars right about now. You can never have enough money put back for an emergency and believe me, emergencies do happen. I'll be honest, I might spend a hundred dollars of it getting me a couple of things that I would want. However, for the most part, I would save the majority of it. Put it back into the bank and have it collect some interest. Put it back and save it for the day where I might need it. And knowing the way things are in this world, that might be sooner rather than later. I tend to not be a big spender, and always try and look for deals when I can.
