Don't you think it is a waste to set low temperature for the air-conditioner?

It is a kind of waste, really! It not only contribute to the global warming but also causing health problems. When ever I on an air-conditioner, I will set it to like 25 or 26ºC where the out side temperature is at 31 or 32ºC. So that I will not get a temperature shock and get sick.

Hi, For me, I don't set high for my bedroom airconditioner, I always set it at Low mode 23 celcius. At least ,with this temperature, my bedroom do not feel warm and has the cool effect. I also have to open up bit my bedroom door because it will be pretty cold if I were to close tight the door. For sure,the next day, I will get flu because of the cold temperature inside my bedroom.

hi y ouless we can really save electricity if we up the setting'on the thermostat a little even thongh it is hot outside. surely we will not melt at say 70 instead of a cool 65we always do that duriong hot spells here in Caliornia. and yes it saves a bit on our bill too.

Yea it's a waste of energy. Setting it too low the temperature could also lower our body immunity. That's why doctors and experts don't recommend using the air-con if unnecessary.

Hi youless, I really like the cold air. However, setting the air condition temperature too low can be uncomfortable for some people, especially if the people are working in the office where the temperature is very cold. When I am out shopping in the high temperature, and I walk into a department store which has the air conditioner nearly off, I am not happy. I like to feel the cold air on my overheated body. I just move on to another store, and spend some time there to get comfortable. It just depends on the company's budget, if they can afford to pay the energy bill. Same thing for an individual's home. If they can afford the high energy bill, then they should be as comfortable as probable. There are other ways to help with the energy crisis.

in fact ,our country want to carry out a policy in 2007 .air conditioning in summer can't exceed 27? ,winter can't lower than 20?.I think it's suitable for us .But now it's not come into effect. i am not waste it ,for me and for us.

I think air conditioner should not be set to low temperature because it can take more electricity. Temperature of the air conditioner should be around middle I think. I think a person should not go out of the room more times when when the air condition is on. Here also lots of offices and department has air conditioners switched on. Sometimes I feel comfortable sitting in the air condition room in the offices or banks after walking through the sunny day.

True setting a temperature that's colder than necessary wastes energy and energy. My hubby would love it to be an ice box so he can hide under the covers, I just want it slightly cool so I can sleep comfortably.

In my Samsung air conditioner the lowest setting is 18 Celsius, but with that the temp inside my room is 31-32, well my walls are not insulated.. if there are many ac in some offices the temp may go down.. Have a nice day ahead. Professor ‘@Bhuwan@’. .

Many people don't worry about the waste of money no from themselves pocket. Very hot upside, so must be very cool inside. just instinct!

Hi, youless! Yes, of course the lower temperature we set, the more energy will be cost by the air conditioners! So It's definitely a waste if you set a temperature which is cold enough to wear coat. But we also need a sufficiently low temperature, and it's difficult to unity all people's comfortable temperature.

I do not believe it is okay to set the temperature either too low for air-conditioner or too high for the heater. Don't you think it is a waste to set low temperature for the air-conditioner? Absolutely not, setting it too low is a total waste, by that I mean then you have to grab blankets when really all you have to do is not set the temperature too low, as it wastes additional money unnecessarily.

We need to experience different temperatures in our body so that we can feel that we are really alive. So just chill and feel the hot! lol
