It turned out obviously to be a blunder. There were many reasons why it was a blunder. For starters, it should have been Bollinger bowling that over. But in case Dhoni wanted a spinner, it should have been Murali or Raina at worst. The other point is Ashwin during the normal game was hammered to all parts by Finch who was one of the batsmen in there, so the decision was a blunder in many ways. Cheers! Ram

How can you even think that it was a good decision.Taking wickets against Wayamba 11 is nowhere comparable to bowling to a very strong Victoria side.Even if you see Aswin's record in onedays you will see that he is more than often hammered.Even in IPL ,Robin Uthappa had hammerred him.A very costly gamble for Dhoni.

Always use fast bowlers in superover who can vary pace. This is first and biggest mistake done by one of the most successful captain of Indian team.He said in his interview that he was looking to give chance to the local players rather than foreign players.I believe Dhoni is a big gambler. But gambling is fine when you are in comfortable position or if it is your day.But doing it at such a dying stage of the match is really pathetic.
