Extremely poor captaincy by M S Dhoni

Its really a poor display of captaincy by M S Dhoni in this crutail match.Win in this match could have got a confirm ticket to semis for Chennai Super Kings. Raina has done well with the ball.I think he could have been tested in the super over or may be Muruli.Justin kemp could have been a better option in the superover.I am really upset with the poor captaincy of Dhoni in this match.Anyways hats off to David Hussy for that innings in pressure.

It was not a poor decision, it was a blunder!! It should have been Bollinger and if he wanted spin, it should have been Murali or Raina at best. What was worst was that Finch has decimated Ashwin during the normal game, so his confidence would definitely have been down. But, hey, Dhoni has been a bit of gambler all through and some of his decisions have paid big dividends while at times some of his other decisions have backfired big time. Today was one such time!! Cheers! Ram

MS Dhoni is a good captain..but sometimes a decision may go wrong which actually went wrong in one sense...he actually clarified that Ashwin has been bowling in the 1st 6 overs and he could keep the runs down as all his fast bowlers went for huge runs so it was better to give the bowling to Ashwin... were he went wrong according to me is that the bowl out is different game altogether..highly unpredictable...you just have one over and if you make a slightest of mistake you dont have time to recover and the pressure mounts...that is exactly what happened...it is not only Dhoni but also the management involved in that decision.

Aswin is not a good enough bowler to bowl in the super over.I think Dhoni knows something about Aswin's bowling talent that we all don't know because otherwise nobody else will do this if you have bowlers such as bollinger and murali in your team. Its high time Dhoni stops experimenting in these crucial matches or else it won't be that long that they are out of the semi final.

If you see the whole match or say pattern of the matches so far, Dhoni is giving opportunities to Indian players more rather than foreign players.Ashwin is a upcoming talented bowler so Dhoni was backing him up , he wont get Bollinger or Murali ,Hussey in international matches , so its good in a way that he is thinking about Indian players and giving them crucial experience , Ashwin wont get such kind of exposure while playing in Indian team and in international matches for the simple reason that one cannot experiment so much in an international match .It may seem a stupid decision now but it will benefit Indian team in future .

Hi sauravmillion, It is true it is very poor decision by Dhoni. Almost everybody thought the same way. Ian Chappel commented that it was a brave decision by Dhoni, Brave but not necessarily correct one. The decision was wrong when seen with the match perspective. The baller he selected had a bad day and he had so many other options. He could have balled Bolinger, Muralidharan or even Raina. But in spite of all this I still feel that Dhoni is the Wright man for India captaincy.
