Countries around the world, different traditions, nationalities, and cultures, celebrate many festivals. The Oktoberfest in German is really very grand and many people visit Munich to see the festival. How about in your country ? Do many visitors come to the festivals in your country ? What festivals do you have ? Please share.

Hi greenline, In India ,there are some festivals which are private and may not mean much to visitors whereas there are others which are celebrated with a lot of enthusiasm by everyone like Dusserah and Diwali which attract a good number of tourists since there is a lot of gaiety and fun , a lot of color and lights..

Yes, I have heard about Diwali Festival. I have been to India twice, but not at the festival time. Some of my friends have seen Diwali Festivals, and were very impressed with them. I look forward to have the opportunity to visit India at the festival time.

Hi greenline,Diwali is a lot of fun and celebrated by every Indian whether they are Hindus or not..Hope you get a chance to visit India during Diwali which normally comes in end October or Early November depending on the stars. Most Indian or rather Hindu festivals have no fixed date and we come to know about them only through Panchanga , an astrological book that gets printed every year in which all the festival dates are mentioned...

Hello Kiran. Thank you so much for the information. Yes, I hope I can come during Diwali time. That would be very fascinating. Panchanga is the astrological calender showing the planetry positions, right ? Thank you again Kiran.

Here in D.C. we have a Cherry Blossom Festival each spring. Many do come in to see the Cherry Blossom trees.

Hello Sarah. Cherry Blossom Festival ! It must be a very beautiful time with cherry blossom all along the roads. Is it celebrated for the whole month, or two months ?

Cherry Blossoms - Cherry blossoms in bloom in D.C.
The best place to see the Cherry Blossoms is call near the Thomas Jefferson Memorial. The hard part is the Festival tries to happen when they are full bloom. The date changes like Easter! And it usually is around Easter. Sometimes they are in full bloom before the Main date for the festival. And yes the festival is about three weeks. And believe it or not , I have never been! I'm lucky there are cherry blossoms in my home town in Virginia. To get there requires a metro ride and some walking. Be warned A D.C. Block is Long! Think at least two of yours. There are few ways to get there. Send me PM and I'll send you the links. But until then Enjoy this picture.
