Hypertension kills

I've just learned that my friend's husband died two days ago because of hypertension. It was a sudden attack where he experienced severe headache and dizziness, and then he vomited afterwards. His blood pressure has reached 240/110. He was laid in a comatose state for 3 days but he gave up then. Hypertension or high blood pressure was also the culprit of my father's death. Genetic factors0, lack of exercise and the food that we usually eat are the main causes of this disease. So, we have to be very careful especially now that anyone has a tendency to acquire it.

Hi kristeena, Sorry, about your husband's friend passing. Hypertension or high blood pressure is a very serious condition that so many people just don't pay enough attention to. The foods that we consume and our sedentary lifestyle (getting little or no exercise) are big contributors to this condition. Sad, but I young children are now being diagnosed with hypertension as well. Some children are eating more pre-packaged foods that are filled with artificial ingredients and sodium, one of the main contributor to high blood pressure. Playing popular video games and constantly watching television have taken the place of outdoor exercising for children, which adds the fat to their bodies allowing them to become obese. Hypertension, is no longer an adult disease, so we all should be doing what we can to prevent it.

Hi kristeena, What is even sadder, is I don't think we will be able to undo this condition in our children, because they have gotten a "taste" of the sedentary life. It is difficult to get them to go outside to play.

Hi, there bingskee! I know how you feel because my mom had an attack few months ago and I can't explain her sufferings that time. She was fortunate and had survived. She's more cautious now and never eats those harmful foods.

Hi there Kristeena! I'm so sorry to hear about your husband's friend. It's really scary so we should always be careful of our body and we should take good care of our health. We can't prepare much about the future , it would be of no use if we are not taking care of our health.

High blood pressure is a scary thing that should never be taken lightly. It can lead to heart attacks and strokes, which most people are aware of. But have high blood pressure over an extended period of time can also lead to kidney failure leading a person to need dialysis. Knowing this runs in your family gives you a head start to staying healthy and making sure you watch this and get treatment if you need it. Many times people go for years without knowing their pressure is high and it leads to many health problems. It's often called the silent killer.

That could be signs of hypertension, but better to seek a doctor's advice for more information.

My sincerest condolences to your husbands friend and any surviving family. People today are not being careful with their health. We have a tendency to eat all the wrong foods and be so inactive, due to stress and environmental influenced. The word needs to put out and stressed more often that we as people must take care of ourselves. Men especially have a tendency not to be cautious. Hopefully your husband too understands the risks and how to prevent as well. But I am sure you will be informing and reminding him more often. Have a great day.

That's right, hardworkinggurl, and thanks for your condolences. People need to have experience hypertension attack first before getting cautious on their health. I might as well take precautions and lead my family to proper diet.

I guess there's really a need to reflect on our lifestyle, the way we live & what we eat..it has something to do with hypertension.

Sorry about your dad's loss and your friends husband's loss. Yes, hypertension really kills. We can't be sure if we have high blood pressure if we wouldn't have our blood pressure check every now and then. We can also prevent this disease if we eat the right kind of foods and exercise. We just have to live a healthy lifestyle so we can't experience this deadly disease.

Exercise and good nutritional diet can work wonders, not only in reducing weights but cleansing our body of all the toxins, as well as purifying our blood. Meditation is another form of self therapy which can not only relax you, but keep your pressure down. If we find we becoming excitable over something at work or in home. Take a deep breath and go for a walk. These suggestions can help us to avoid hypertension in men men are necessary components in reducing blood pressure and living a healthy life.
