I am having trouble with my yahoo mail can a virus attach only to your email account? I have done all my scans and updates but still am not able to get my Yahoo email account to work. I started a new email account last night and it works fine. Help Please

I would suggest that you contact support for additional help. In the interim you can go to your preferences and forward all new emails from you old email account to your new account.
As I have never heard that a virus attaches to the entire account, but only too an individual email and well after opening it, it will infect your entire system. So it has to do with your log in password perhaps.

I contacted support with my new email address but haven't heard back from them. I tried to forward emails from old account to new account but when I tried to do this it says you have to upgrade to a paying account to have emails forwarded thanks for your assistance.

This is the weekend so I imagine that perhaps they will respond during the business week as that is usually the process most sites operate on.
I sure hope you get an answer as this surely has to be frustrating, and from what I read if has nothing to do with your computer because the new email address functions well. Had the new email address not function properly and acted as the old one then I would have suggested something was wrong with your computer.
I wish you can get this worked out soon.

I can log in and I can view the emails in firefox but can not open the emails to read them. In internet explorer I can log in and I can open the emails but I can not reply to any emails. It is really strange. And also each time I log in My back ground changes colors one time it will be green the next time it will be purple. With my new account that I created last night everything works perfect in both firefox and internet explorer and it is always green background.
