Bayern Motor Works in English. Bayernische Motoren Werke in German. and it certainly isn't the costliest car in any terms!

Maybe I have the spelling wrong but I don't think so! Wiki has it as "Bayerische Motoren Werke".

bmw stands for bavarien motor works.In my opinion bugatti veyron and ssc ultimate aero are the most costliest cars in terms of making because of their potent engines.
