i hate him! he's the most arrogant, demeaning , selfish person i've ever known in my life, i almost regretted entering my job coz of him. earlier this morning we had our routine meeting before our establishment opens and just listening to him saying things like " be courteous in dealing w/ the clients". how dare him say things like that when he himself can't do every single thing that comes out on his mouth. Everybody else hates him, not only me,everyday i'm envisioning things like choking him and thinking stuff like how long will he still be alive.. i wanted so much to talk back .. to tell him what a jerk he is. The most important person in our business is our clients and he is in fact degrading them if he knows that he can't get enough money/profit that he wants. see how cruel he is? if the client's rich and famous he'll be kissing their behinds but if they're not, he can't even look them in the eye. in one or two years time he'll be retiring and im so looking forward to that moment, still i want so bad for him to know his mistakes and don't just get away with it. any suggestions on what shall i do to get over this jerk of a boss i have??

Hi Melanierg and welcome to my lot. Does he have a boss over him? If so and you know what he is doing is wrong then you should report him to his boss. Get everyone to sign a statement saying what he is doing wrong and let his boss know this. I have always been lucky I have always had good bosses or I would find a new job and quit the bad job. Thank God I don't have to work for a boss I am my own boss now. You could do what we do find something that you love to do and do it out of your home and it is a lot better way to live. But then you can always get a customer that you can't do enough to please them. And if that happens you can just quit that customer. We mow lawns and do carpenter work for the people we work for. In the bible it says to order all evil from you in Jesus name and the evil will have to flea from you.

Hi Melanierg. The best thing I can tell you to do is go to those over his head. But I would get all the employees that you can to sign a petition stating what they have seen and heard him do. Also if you can get the clients that he has made feel bad get them in on the petition and the boss will have to look at it. Here in the USA we have laws they can't talk down to anyone without suffering the consequences for their actions. I know this has got to be stressful on you and those that work with you. There are laws against doing this kind of behavior in a work place. If nothing else call a lawyer! One that will take the case on for a commission of what you will get for suing the company for not taking care of this matter in a timely manner! Good luck my friend! Pray about what ever you decide to do first though God may show you a way around this matter!

hi free_man ! :) thanks a lot , first of, yes he has a boss over him, he's our branch manager but we still got our area head supervisor and the region head supervisor, i've been planning a lot on reporting his wrongdoings. i am the steward of our union and we have this meetings quarterly, we report our problems and concerns regarding rank and file employees versus our officers and their ways in dealing with us. he should always be aware of his powers as manager, he should know that he has us underneath him , that he should be a 'people-manager' and not concentrate of being a 'profit-manager', he's pushing us too far, yelling at us every single day and i think it really doesn't help, what can yelling do ?? when in fact you can talk calmly and be effective. we're constantly exhausted when he's around, and he treats us like we're some sort of trash.. i've tried telling the union head in our region but he thinks that we can't do anything w/regards to impeaching him because he brings money and clients to the company. is that it? i mean if we're not there, being the front liner to the clients he can't get that money and he's not that good in dealing with our clients.. like i've said before, he's just amazingly accommodating to those who has money and excruciatingly rude to those who are mediocre.i remembered that of all the clients that he had yelled, there was one who yelled back at him so bad that all of the employees and clients looked at them , we were sooooo happy and excited because for ones in his life, there was someone who talked back .. and then i also reported this to our union head and he said that i should talk to the client and tell her to file a complaint and send the letter directly to the HR dept. and in return the HRD will send a survey regarding his performance. and so i did talk to the client.. but then she was always busy and got no time .. what shall i do then? i'm sorry for this very long response but i think you have the most experience and maybe you can help me with this. thanks again.

I really can't give much advice in this area. I have had a boss like that though. In fact I had a great boss at one of my jobs then their corporate office decided to send us a new boss. She came in with an attitude toward me and within a few months she fired me. In our state the boss can fire employees for no reason so she pretty much did just that. She told me she couldn't work with me. It was because I made her nervous because I could do her job better than she could. The only reason I didn't get the position is because I didn't have much experience in that line of work when they hired her. Anyway, good luck with the job and maybe he will retire sooner than expected. Hang in there!

yeah, i should just wait for the time he retires..and hope it'll be sooner so i wouldn't whine like this every single day.. lol, he's kinda old and i should feel for him but no, i just can't . he and i just doesn't fit in the same hole. he can't really fire me because he is in no position to do so, he's just a manager and not the owner. i should be careful though so he can't find any reason to do so.:)
