What do you do to stay healthy? Do you eat fruit, veggies and nuts? Do you exercise? Do you play racquetball? Do you not care at all? DO you feel your health is even important?

Health is vitally important to me. I try to squeeze in 9-11 serving of veggies and use seafood as my primary protein. I'm also a big believer in drinking water and drink 6-8 glasses of water a day. I take a mulitvitamin daily. In terms of exercise, I do 30 minutes of cardio and 15 minutes of weight training six days a week.

That is awesome! Good for you! I have just begun on my journey into health. For too long I ate what I wanted and barely exercised. Now that my kids are grown it is time to get back at it, mainly so I can teach them good habits and see them grow up :) Do you ever get bored with veggies or do you have a good ability to mix it up a bit with your food. I am finding myself a bit bored with my recipes. Do you have anything you might suggest?

I do try to mix it up. I shop once a week and make it a point to buy different veggies every week. When I started this journey, I bought the veggies that I liked and tried one veggie that I never had before each week. I was amazed at how many things I liked that I never tried. My favorite is mock mashed potatoes that are made with cauliflower. You might also try different methods of preparing them as well. Cauliflower and garlic cloves are so good roasted and I do roast them sometimes when I am making the mocked mashed potatoes. I love carrots, eggplant, onion and zucchini brushed with a little bit of olive oil and cooked on the grill. Tried gazpacho for the first time a few years ago and love, love, love it. Very quick and easy to make and very good. I cut raw zucchini and summer squash into chunks and incorporate them into salads. Bake some spaghetti squash and serve it with pasta sauce or a little bit of butter and seasoning. I could go on and on.

I just tried using cauliflower as rice and was so satisfied. It makes a great substitute. I like your idea of trying one new a week, I think I might do that from now on. I have never used spaghetti squash but think that will be on the list this week. I am finding that salads are so unique each time I make them. It can be fun to experiment with new things. I love to roast veggies and find them very satisfying. Something I miss is ranch dressing though. What do you use as a dressing? We have made a few yogurt based but I have been using a lot of hot sauce as well. Do you have any good fish/seafood ideas. That is uncharted for me and I know that I could really enjoy. We do the basics but would like to try more recipes.

I stay healthy by hitting the gym every other day, more likely 3 days a week. I do cardio exercises before weight training. I also eat a lot of fruits to keep my system clean and healthy. I'm not a big fan of veggies but i make it a point to eat at least thrice a week.

I like common fruits like apple, mango, banana, grapes, etc.. Well, 2 minutes of jogging every morning really helps. I used to do it and i lost a lot of lbs.

I really need to do more cardio. I have been doing a lot of home exercise and taking the boys for long walks but it really does not count as cardio in my opinion. I know that is what is missing from my current lifestyle. It is so hard to cut time out of the day to exercise like I want to. Hopefully that will come next though, it is a big priority. I love veggies and always have, now I am learning to actually cook with them which is exciting. Do you like fruits?

Usually what i do to stay healthy is to eat at least 2 fruits a day as instructed by my mother, drink around 7-8 cups of plain water daily. It's also good if you can eat vegetables every day as there are dietary fibre that could help make your intestine healthy and vitamins to keep your body healthy. However for me,i do not exercise regularly,so that's one area that i have to look into.Actually i have not heard of racquetball before,i will do some googling about it later, but you could share with me more if you play that sports. And i personally do feel that health is very important, without good health,no matter how much money you have, you don't have the ability to spend it.

I have been drinking a lot more water these days, and that feels great on its own. Water is very important to good health, I think.. Raquetball is a game played in a room with cement walls on all sides. You hit a small hard rubber ball against the front wall and it bounces all over the place, including off the other walls. You have to play the ball in turn with your opponent and hit the front wall. It is a very fast paced game and you have to have good reaction time. Have you ever played handball? If so, it is very similar but you use a raquet instead of your hand and you are fully enclosed in a room. It is a lot of fun to play with people of similar skill level to your own :) With all the riches in the world, without your health, you have nothing.

everyone knows stay healthy is crucial for life. Me i dont pay really direct attention to this meaning that i dont eat fruits everyday, i didnt stop or reduicing fast food, i dont do regular and schedule exercise. So for me being healthy doenot mean to do everything exactly we needs to . Else my life will become monoton and boring. Hence i do take some precautions for example i take long walk when i go to the bustop to take us to go to course. I eat a fruit along with the salad everyday. this is sufficient to stay healthy.

Thank you for your grounded response. The oldest people that have ever lived often say they stayed so healthy by walking good distances each and every day. I think you make a good point with be sufficient to stay healthy. You just have to take precautions, as you said. Thank you for the great response!

I agree so much! It is important to be healthy and I am trying to exercise more often as well. When your body feels good it makes each day more happy to live in. Thank you for your response. If you have any recipes to share I would love to have some new ones!
