how to modify your own PS2 at home?

Hello!
I have a question that needs to answered. How to modify ps2 at home? can we modify it at home? i've heard about magic swap. is it effective? how much will it cost if i modify my PS2. I bought a game but i cannot play on my ps2 because my Ps2 needs original CD. And original CD is expensive. Is there any alternatives to modify PS2? I can only play movie and play songs with it.

it is much more better to have it modded with a chip rather than using swap magic disc which involves literraly swapping discs.
You also need the original game first for the swap trick to work.
That means more hassle for you
and less gaming time

Yes i think it would be best to just have it modded with a modchip, repeated swapping might also have some disadvatages since you'll be opening your console disc tray over and over again. And you need the original game itself which sucks lol

well, thanks for the information. Maybe it would be better if i modify my ps2 rather than repeatedly swapping.

well just let somebody modify it. youll need to solder a chip into it which is not for a beginners work.
well a alternative is to buy a harddrive for a ps2.

hello! thank you for your information. About how much is a chip? i thought i could modify it just at home. So i'll have to spend money for the modification. right? I bought many games but it does not work. only the original ones. well, thank you for that!

well i know a place that will do it for 1000 php to 1500 php if i can remember, but i know the price has gone down.

i have a good solution its cheaper than swap magic or a mod chip look this up free mc boot its great i have it all u need is to softmod your ps2 which is pretty easy more if u have a slim but all u need to do other than that is buy james bond agent under fire its very cheap i got my copy for $3 the game sucks but its the only game u can use to install this its very easy to do u don't need really any tech knowledge but it will help if u do heres the link to the guy on youtube who shows how to do it http://www.youtube.com/user/iMeAgainstTheWorldi look at his videos and u'll find a good link to it so have fun
