My former friend wants me to be blacklisted to any company

My former friend is actually my previous boss before on this publishing company by the last week of February until end of April. I worked there as his assistant but then he never paid me for my actual salary when I was working with him. By the time that I need a cash even if that is only partial amount he didn't bothered to listen to me so I did something like putting his laptop inside his cabinet then locked it. Of course when he knew it we heated argument. Then he called up the graphic artist on his mobile phone and he told him that he can put me on the blacklist so that I can't land to any company just in case I will tell something bad about his company. Which he never told that to me. This incident happened by the last week of May but then the graphic artist just told me last night about the fact that he wants me to be blacklisted just in case that I will say something about his company. I mean again TAKE NOTE: He will put me on the blacklist when I said something about his company not because of what I did on his laptop. See? how come he is afraid that I will say something about his company? So it means that he is guilty that his company is not legal? It was not even registered at any government agencies in the first place. This Friday I will go to the office of Pasig which referred by DOLE to ask about on what to do on the remaining balance that has not given to me. Then the IBP even told me that what I did was no bearing at all. I think this is an additional idea about being blacklist on what I am going to do. Well maybe it is just a threat but the point is even he will make it true I am not afraid of him and of course I won't ever glorify his wrong doings especially the fact that I know where to stand on what I believe is right. At least I have an idea about his plans.

Sorry to hear about this. What kind of friend is this? I think you've to report this to the higher authorities. I've seen this kind of things happening only in dramas but in real life, which was what you mentioned, I'm surprised. His bad doings have to be reported and while he says to blacklist you, this will be considered as threatening and the matter can be taken to court.

I know he can't make it as if he knows all the people that are in industry or he can announce it on air that he can put me in blacklist so that it will be difficult for me to find job. I don't need his certificate of employment in the first place whereas his company is not even legal. If it is about the difficulty to find jobs then I am really used to it, I mean its not new to me.

And yeah speaking of drama of course I have heard that already in Magkaribal show when Victoria blacklisted Gelai with other fashion designers. Not to mention that friend that I am talking about has a racket of being extra participant in any shows. He have fought with Marian Rivera before when he is an extra of Marimar. His definition of friend is actually the one that he could take advantage for his own good.

oh so that's what he is so annoyed about? he he but i think your hiding his laptop is a bit childish too. When you apply for any jobs, so you can avoid being bad-mouthed by this boss of yours, do not put him as a referral, omit this work experience of yours and i think you'll do fine. but your problem will be if you have stayed long in this company because you will find it hard to explain that to your new employer. 1. i sugges you go ahead and get your money - it is your salary and you have the right to get every penny of it. 2. stop communicating with your boss, or friends from that company for now until you are done with the case you are to file with DOLE. 3. have your documentations ready so you'll be covered when you file a complaint in DOLE. 4. goodluck!

Actually it was already my plan even before to knew about black listing thing that I won't put him as reference and his company as well since it is not reliable. I've only worked for 2 months. He only paid me the partial amount but he is turned it over to me that his investor will pay me the remaining. But the problem is his investor can't pay me due to lack of funds and yet his plan is to sell his cpu so that he can pay us but the problem is my boss sell it already without his partner's consent. I think this investor has plans to file a case against him. Yes I already stop communicating with my boss especially when he was tired of heating arguments with me. This Friday I have this plan to seek for an advise first on what to do before to make any legal action. If I am going to pay then I won't do but I will ask the investor to continue the case that he wants to file. The problem is he wants to send a demand letter through his residence so do you have any idea on how to detect his location address especially through his landline?

Maybe that's why i never want to work with a friend especially with something that involves money. In your case because he is your friend you allow him to take advantage of you I guess youve reach your breaking point. Is there anyway that the two of you can patch things up? Legal battles takes forever.

Knowing the attitude of that boss there is no way to really patch things up. Especially in terms of money because he is a kind of a person who does not want to shell out every single cents. I am just want to have a legal advise. I have no plans to complain because the NLRC told me that my situation is now winnable then of course the lawyer even told my cousin in law that it is gonna be hassle if I will take that to the court because of time and money. Money is my opponent here so I would focus on demand letter. But then again I will seek advise from DOLE so that I will see if that is just the same with NLRC.
