2 questions: When you were reinstalling your OS, were you connected to the Internet? Is your OS genuine? If the answer to the first question is yes, then when you reformat/reinstall the OS, make sure to take your computer completely offline. There are some viruses that can attack your computer while installing an OS, causing your win32 file to be deleted. If the answer to the second question is no, then your disc may be faulty. It may have a virus already pre-installed so when you install the OS, it corrupts it too. You'll need a new CD in that case. I hope this helps!

IF your OS is genuine then get rid of your anti virus and get something else. IF your anti-virus is pirated get rid of it. IF your OS and anti-virus is genuine then you won't have any prob. Otherwise, PM me and I can tell me the exact details for me to help you....

Kaspersky is a very powerful anti virus .It will delete malicious files detected by it automatically. So in order for securing your computer use any other anti virus which has light weight properties.

Check Your Antivirus Settings. May be You have selected to delete Vault files after few days. So change these settings or try other Options. There are many other good options available Quick Heal, Symantec are some gud anti viruses available.

Re-intalling os definitely will harm your computer hard disk, because it will write 0 track of the disk every time your formatting disk and installing OS and application. Since the disk has a total amount of read/write times, the frequently installing OS will reduce your lifetime of your disk. I'm using norton 360, it is very good. I may recommend you to use this product. Anyway, don't download any program from internet if you don't know if it is safe or not. Another alternative way is that you can install a virtual machine in your computer, always use your virtual machine to access internet or do other dangerous job. And back up your virtual machine after you finish your installation of virtual machine. Once the virtual machine is damaged, you can easily replace your backup file to the damaged one. Since the virtual machine is actually a file which don't use 0 track ,it is much safer for the disk.

Hello, I didn't like the name Kaspersky, sounds like a Russian Submarine to me. Why are you still sticking to Kaspersky? Just give up the software. There are plenty of free antivirus available online. In your next installation, don't load kaspersky. Use Avast, Avira, AVG instead. In addition to that you may install an anti-spyware like spyware doctor or spyware terminator. Thanks. God bless you.

hey kaushikchakraborty, welcome to mylot. You can uninstall this anti virus and i heard that Kaspersky slows down your system and reinstalling OS many times may affect your hard disk and can even create bad sectors onto your hard drive. Well, i use Avast Pro and found it the best anti virus till yet. You can try avast, i believe that its gonna solve your problem.

I used the free version of AVG. http://free.avg.com/ww-en/homepage It's easy, good and free. And by the way, your harddisk is not affected by installing a new OS again and again :)
