When I cook some foods, I spend a lot of time to cook, I like to look every one like to eat foods which I cooked. And I have a bad habbit that I often try a dish and when my husband's mom look at me and shouted me that shouldn't do that or why do you spend alot of time to cook for every one?? or I like another work and dislike cooking. I really don't be comefortable because I think that you should do every thing you like and don't shout the other when they don't like the thing you like. What do you think about my mom???

Hi. tahuonggiang. Welcome to myLot! It is because she is mean. She should not shout at you like this. If she was my mother-in-law and she shouted at me so harshly, I would have left the food right on the stove for her to tend to. I would not even bother with finish cooking the food at all.

I think you should tell her she doesn't like it then she need not eat it. If she continues tell her it's your home and not her business. What does your husband do when this happens? He should be standing up for you?

Well she might just be thinking you are doing too much work cooking for everyone. She might be trying to be helpful. Then again I don't know what kind of tone she has in her voice when she says this to you. I too like to cook and when I have a party I do all the oooking, and when I have guests over I always make a lot of food. I think too much is always better than not enough, so people always tell me I work to hard, but they all eat it up. Just tell you husband's mother that this is what you like to do and you enjoy cooking for others and that it makes you happy to do so.

I think that is very uncalled for her to act that way. Sounds as if to me she is jealous of u. Mother-in law's can be soooo tacky. I don't have one anymore but when i did i loved her dearly. Happy weekend to u.

I think that she is overly critical. You should spend you time doing the things that you enjoy and that will make you happy. She should mind her own business. The next time that she tells you that, I think that you shoudl tell her that you would be happy to leave the cooking responsibilities up to her. That should shut her up! LOL

i think she's just plain witchy and b*tchy. lol. sorry for the harsh words... well i think no one deserves to be yelled at....... unless it's an emergency situation like when the house is burning and the purpose of yelling is actually to save your life....
