Really, how could someone do this?

A few hours ago, my roommate comes home, walks through our front door and says, "he was hit by a car, he's in the backyard". Didn't know what he was talking about. So I limped out into the backyard and saw nothing. Came around to the front and he was pointing to the bush beside the window. It was a black cat. Someone had hit him, and the poor thing was hurt badly. He was listing to one side as if that entire side was paralyzed. He was practically falling over as he ran away. We couldn't catch him to try to get him any help, and even if we had been able to, animal control would just have taken him and put him down, just like they did with our rescue cat that we'd found and had cancer or something. I really don't know how people could be so cruel to just run over an animal and drive off, I really don't.

The world is a messed up place. Racism is another example. Take a look at this video - look how racist people still are today in America. hxxp:///www.youtube.com/watch?v=hrOSL85ZMck Replace the "xx" with "tt" because I don't have enough posts to put links yet.

That's so sad.. I don't know how any body could be so mean.If I hit a animal I would take it to vets or animal control and find out what is wrong with the animal and make sure it's ok. to leave with me and I would let it lose in the woods where it be safe. cd

This is pretty sad as how can a person live with themselves after hitting a poor defenseless animal. You do not have to be a an animal lover to be caring and sympathetic. For what ever reasons why might kill and or injure a small defenseless animal the least the person can do is check on it and or make some type of attempt to make sure the animal is okay and even if not at least be human.

It's definitely a problem. If I know that I hit a domestic animal, I make some attempt to locate the owners. If I can't, I at least call the animal control to let them know. It is possible, being as small as a cat, that they might not of even realized it. I had a dog a few years ago that got loose on me. 5 minutes later she came back out of the woods shot in the leg. I wish I could of afforded the surgery. :(
