Intense Christianity

A lot of the time, people think Christians are crazy. Particularly the more conservative, outgoing types that tend to say "Jesus love you" or "The devil is out to get you" to random people they don't know, claiming that saying so is spreading the message about God's love. I am a Christian, and I personally think it's not so great. I think that kind of approach to people is a good way to scare them off. I'm all for bringing God into everyone's lives, but not that way. I think a better way to approach others is to let them feel accepted and loved and in a community, or part of God's family and they will begin to realize on their own how great the love is.

I believe in, " Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls beforet swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you. Mt 7:6"

Its an absolute wrong way, people would definitely get annoyed by such phrases! I mean imagine "The devil is out to get you"... it would imply, the devil is out to get all the others around and the one saying is the only sober one and safe! Such lines may make people to disregard those saying it even more. Christians are commanded to "make disciples of people of all the nations," but this does not mean that they are to use pressure or ridicule. Jesus' commission was to "tell good news to the meek ones," to "bind up the brokenhearted," to "comfort all the mourning ones." (Matthew 28:19; Isaiah 61:1, 2; Luke 4:18, 19). So to tell about God's coming kingdom to everyone, with hope and love. By being exemplary in the Christian conduct that we recommend to others. We should try to do unto others as we would have others do unto us.' (Matthew 7:12) We should try to be this way with all men, not just with friends, neighbors, or relatives. This would definitely spread about God's love.

I agree that popping up with such things to random people does little to spread the gospel. I believe that one should follow the Spirit's leading when talking to someone about the Lord. How we live speaks louder than our words most of the time, but there are times when we do need to speak up. Knowing when to do that shows a maturity of spirit. I used to know a woman who ended every conversation with "Angels around you!" as a sort of blessing, I guess. It irritated me no end!

I perfer to share my Christian Belief in a more personal way. I do it by example and when people ask me why I do the voluenteer work that I do then it gives me a chance to talk about Christianity.

i myself will feel that the person is weird if he will say something like that to me. there are a lot of people who are like that not only christians. they truly scare people of when they do that. words does not mean anything actions are the one who will prove your point. if people see you walk the talk then they are more convinced that you are believable once you say something. but i can not blame some people when they are like that, i just feel that they are weird.

I myself am insulted when people say to me "jesus loves you", "God bless you" and such. What would make them think that I want either of those things to happen? It generally means I will have an even worse day than I was having.

I agree. People who just spurt out "christian phrases" out of context are weird. I am a Catholic and when I see those kinds of people, I sometimes get ashamed because they do give the religion and its believers a bad name. When people make generalized assumptions about your religion, it's bad cos they won't take you seriously. Some of the more malicious ones would even mock you and your beliefs.

I am a christian and one way to share God's message is saying to other people that 'God loves you!' and it feels so greatful that you do your job! But i agree with you that unless they can't feel what you're doin' and sayin', they will never be changed!

your right! instead of arguing with them, we should pray for them that the Holy Spirit will continue guide them to God's path eventhough they still resist to it now. But I know one day they'll find their way soon to God and to OUR family! God bless! ^_^
