According to this article http://www.nbclosangeles.com/news/local-beat/Octomom-to-Hold-Saturday-Yard-Sale-103762324.html she's in forclosure of that nice house she was put in after her parents were loosing the home Octo Mom & her 14 kids share with her parents. I dunno about you but who'd buy her autographed undies? kids toys perhaps, but don't her kids need them they aren't that old? I dunno that I'd pay to have my pic taken with Octo Mom and her kids. Desperate times are cause for desperate measures. But I dunno about exploiting her kids anymore than necessary unless push comes to shove. Her freeride off the media and other lil deals about her "story" have peetered out. Seriously, is a rummage sale going to make that much money to make a mortgage payment or two? She'd have to be charging big bucks to make up even one payment on a house. I dunno that anything on e-bay would make that much but who knows maybe there's some weirdo around the world who would want her things.

What can I say except that I agree with you on all points. It is a shame that her claim to fame is that she has a large number of children. How did she ever expect to live and care for her children. I guess she figured the rest of the world would pay her way. I heard about the sale on the radio the other morning. How tacky.

I would not have done a reduction, but here again, I would not have had the invitro in the first place. Shoot, I probably would not have had the first six, although I used to say I wanted six.

You know I hate to say it as I know many people are touchy about such things but she could of had a reduction done during her pregnancy. But for Heavens sake how can she afford to take care of all these kids w/o public assistance?!?!? Not everyone is fortunate like the Duggars to have the means to support such a large family. She already had 6 before the 8 as a single mom. I dunno bout you but when I come into a lil bit of cash the first thing on my mind is not going to get invitro! **shakes head**

I wanted 5-7 kids but between finances and having a c-sect w/ my lil guy there's no way I could continue to be at home full time. Now if my hubby got a big promotion where say he makes double the wages sure maybe 1 more but that'll happen when pigs fly. I'm glad we are done having kids.

Yeah, I don't get the hype about this lady. Why are so many people interested in her? It makes no sense to me. I even knew I guy that I worked with that said he would date Octomom! What a weirdo! Even stranger is how she tries to be like Angelina Jolie! She is not famous-worthy. She is just a crazy lady. Period.

Yeah I think that co-worker definatly has lost his mind! Most of us are not happy about some aspect of our looks but with her situation with the 6 before the 8 babies who in their right mind would waste the money to look like a celeb when you have kids to feed!

Yeah, I'm with you on this. She will be on welfare very soon dispite her repeated arrogant denials that she will never go on it. And we here in California will have to pay for the kids and everything they have or are and all their medical care and all cause of her arrogance and selfishness. I read the article too.. some comedian guy was sponsoring it. I haven't heard what kind of money she made, but that house... I've seen pictures and it has a hefty payment just from what I have seen. And its like she expects that she thought she ever could afford it. She got it on one of those balloon payment things, low payment ofr a year and then the full amount owed or refinance. She has no income so she can't refi...so... we get to support her. I don't see that anything she'd have would be worth anything that anyone would want and most certainly not enough to make any kind of house payment.

But you know I'm sure she is on some sort of public support weather or not it is publically known yet. She can't support a family of that size on a "good" job let alone a bottom of the barrel minimum wage job. Nor does section 8 housing have a big enough apartment to acamodate such a family! Plus what's 30% of a negative income????

You know someone may buy some of her stuff. There are some pretty strange folks out there. She may be counting on that. Autographed undies, seriously? Ok, YUCK! All I can feel is sorry for those kids. They didn't ask to be here and honestly(just my opinion) deserve better than that.

I'm sure she was counting on those strange folks to buy those things to make some cash. But really this will not be the end to her financial woes.... the kids get bigger they eat even more, more clothes, bigger beds, bigger everything. She's dug herself in deep and taking these kids with her. Truly not fair to them, they didn't ask for this nor do they deserve this.

I am sure she can manage to get away with upping the price on things she's selling. I'm also certain somebody would want to buy the things just so they could try to sell it for even more on ebay. I don't think she should be exploiting her kids, and I do feel sorry for her going into foreclosure, but really it seems she probably spent the money she got from her "publicity stunt" in an unwise way. I definitely wouldn't want her underwear, and I am not sure I could say I'd want her kids toys either, but I agree they shouldn't be selling the toys.

Who knows how she spends any of it. Maybe the county or state just takes everything they can get from her to pay for the hospital bills, WIC, food stamps... whatever support she's been getting. She must have forgotten about the 6 she had at home before that she could not afford to care for. I'm sure that's the only kind of living she'll be making is thru publicity stunts as she certainly can't afford day care for all those kids nonetheless feed them all.

Well, I definitely wouldn't buy any of her stuff because of who she is because I think that she is a selfish B if I must say so myself. Now, that isn't to say that there wouldn't be the chance that I could stumble upon her yard sale and if she had anything there that I needed for my children, there would be a chance that I would buy those things. Not because of who she is or where the stuff came from but because of the fact that I could put the things to good use.

I kinda feel sorry for her because she just doesn't get it. Anyone who would purposely have babies like she did has to have something wrong in their head. The fact that there are those who would actually buy stuff just because it was hers is even worse, in my opinion. Like you, I don't see how having a rummage sale can net enough for mortgage payments, but even IF it should, what will she do when that runs out?

Herro 3SnuggleBunnies I forgot what state she lives in. If it is California, their Aid for dependent children program is good. Or was, several years back. Like you, I wouldn't buy any of her stuff. I thought the doctor that allowed this travesty she have been disciplined. Cild protective should definitely be involved. If she cannot provide a home?? Oh well, not my problem other than the way I think about her irresponsible behavior. The shame is it will be the children that suffer the consequences. Prosperous mylotting

La Habra California. And yes there are lots of welfare programs for kids and single mothers. But my problem is... I had to support my own kids with no help from anyone. I had to be a working mom. She already had 6..and was having trouble supporting them, yet she went and had more. She has her plan to scam california down to a science. She repeatedly says she won't go on public assistance...but...there is no way around it. But because of her plan.. she has to show that she "tried everything" before she gets on these programs and then will say "it is only for the kids, not her herself" that she is getting public help. Yet, me and the rest of California have to support those 14 kids and while we support our own. She knows what she is doing. She knows how to play the game and it is working like a charm. All you have to do is put a child in the lime light and you've got it made

She of course would deny that she is "broken". I think she should be fixed starting in her head.

I think she's just trying to get money to feed everyone. I saw a clip of an interview with her just the other day and she was talking about her grim finances. The whole time a couple of babies were wailing in the background and apparently no one went to help them. The children are suffering, this is awful. I think the best thing for her and her kids is to farm them out to people that could love and pay attention to them. She is a sick woman, or was when she had all those kids. I wish her and the children nothing but the best but the future doesn't look too bright for any of them.

hi 3snugglebunnies I sure would notwant her used undies, how repulsive, yuck but she has Tatoo hosting this and he has clout I suppose. Around here yard sales do not bring in the kind of mnoney a couple of mortgages payments would need.LaHabra wow must be an expensive house.I do not know much about her but I would do most anything except exploit my own children to pay my bills. and selling her children's toys seems a bit outlandish. Why on earth have 14 kids if she cannot even pay the house payments?

La Habra is one of those good on one side, bad on the other kinds of towns. She is on the good side and that house is huge and gorgous. Yard sales are not what they used to be. I am a professional "sailer", both having and shopping. Since this recession....the number of yard sales have gone up, but a seller doesn't make nearly as much as they used to.Years ago I made good money at my sales, but recent years, My daughter and I had 2 every summer for about 3 years... she had a kid that grew out of things, I was just cleaning out a 4 bedroom house. the first year did good, next year, okay, the last year, hardly anything. You'd put $1 on a pair of Wranglers and they'd offer you 50ยค You'd put $5 on an appliance and they'd offer you $3. If you took their offer, they'd hand you a $5 bill! My daughter tends to buy a little on the high end of things sometimes, Victoria Secrets bras and such, and they'd go for $5-$8 every time. Last sale, she started that way, but was always offered $1 for them. Got to the point that I'd say, I know they are playing me, so I'll set my price, and I'd rather give it to charity than give it to a scammer. So I said this is the price, and didn't come down and they either took it or didn't. Mostly they didn't. And I gave it all to Disabled Vets. But people these days won't pay for things at yard sales like they used to. So I am sure she didn't do to well...especially for that area.

I know everyone want's a bargain and a deep bargain. I can't complain about it because I'm that way too! I look for stuff for my kids mostly. Clothes unless it's NWT I won't spend more than a $1 on an item typically I shoot for .50 or less. I don't haggle with people on their prices unless it's something I really want but not sure I want to spend what they are asking. So knowing what I'm willing to pay for things I priced most of my things .50 or less. The only things I priced higher were things that were NWT or hardly used. I was so bummed about donating 13 boxes of kids things to salvation army. I know a relative of mine who gets things from thrift stores or pawn shops to resell is doing 60% less at their sales when they hold them. He's marks the stuff up a bit for some haggling room.

I don't know anything about the area but I agree even a rummage sale here surly one could not come up with a mortgage payment. Though I've heard of a few people brag about making quite a good chunk of money doing it, when I tried to sell my kids things I made like $10. I don't think she or the Dr. figured almost all of the eggs she had left would "take", I think they (either the eggs or sperm) were set to be destroyed wich is why I thought they did so many at once. But she had 6, she couldn't pay for why not call it a day. She was running her poor parents ragged & into a foreclosure as well. Such a mess!

I have never really followed the hype on this women. I remember seeing in on the news and after that one time, that was it. I can't even comprehend why the media allows her all that attention. I personally think what she has done is so selfish! And then to go to the extreme of selling autographed bras and panties...what a nut case!! Now don't get me wrong, if I needed to provide shelter and food for my children, I am sure I would do whatever I need to do. But this lady doesn't even seem to use her head. Surely she could be a bit more creative then to sell nursing bras and pregnancy panties...yuck-o!!!!

Probably looking for some one else to take pity on her & her children. I think people feel sorry for the children but are angry that their Mother put everyone into such a difficult situation.
