It's good to have a pet, especially a cat. They have their own personality, though hope to whatever it is you believe that they are NOT an evil maniac like one of mine. They are very individual and if you treat them well, they will treat you well. They do not take to being treated like a slave, like dogs, so you should have fun playing with them. (cats are actually good hide and seek buddies. you'll never find them but they'll always find you. :])

An animal can be a great companion, but also remember that they come with a lot of expenses and responsibilities. A cat may be great (I have three and they like to come love me at night), but you also have to take care of their litter box, feed them, water them, take them to the vet if they don't feel good, make sure they get their vaccinations and flea treatment, etc. They may be somewhat independent, or more so than dogs at least, but that doesn't mean they don't require a lot of attention just the same. As for relieving loneliness, a pet can be good for that, but not all the time. What you need, most likely, is human companionship, so go out and make a few new friends. I love my animals (2 dogs, 3 cats, and a rabbit) and they keep me company and make me feel less lonely at night when my husband's at work, but they're not a substitute for real human interaction. Nor would they want to be. My cats want to do their own thing and not be bothered unless it's convenient for them. That's how most cats are. If they want love and you want to love them, great, but sometimes they can't be bothered to be loved and they really wish you would leave them alone...lol.

A cat won't relieve the loneliness! A dog might but are you ready for the responsibility? I think another person would be better. Make some friends with your neighbours.

sure why not, if you really have passion for pet.. I mean they come with responsibility.. and when you dont like them anymore its not right to just throw them away.. so make sure your ready before having it:) goodluck
