A friend of mine turned up today and gave me some wine,as she do not drink white wine,so in exchange i gave her the red wine that i had, which was only 2 bottles, yet she had six red.She said it was her mum that also had some wine for me aswell as she do not drink white wine,so she will pop it in during the week if that was ok,face it who would say no.I have loads of white wine, well even more now,but i still need to get all the spirits,as i have only a few spirits that are full bottles.Do you tend to get lots of drink in when it is Christmas,as we always have guests round.

It depends. I enjoy drinking (not in excess, but getting tipsy never hurt anyone) on Christmas when it's an adult celebration - not when there are kids involved (I don't like that idea at all!) For example, if my 8 year old half-sister goes, I'd most likely stay 110% sober just because I don't like her seeing that. But if it's just us adults, why not add a little booze to the mix? I'm thinking peppermint schnapps this year!

Yes, I will likely have spirits around during the holidays. I am not a big drinker but its nice to have something to offer visitors when they call on you on the holidays. Besides, I need something to help me over the stress and sadness of christmas. Some never realize that its not all happy times for everyone!

I live a whole country away from most of the people I know so I don't get visitors. I guess I've had maybe 3 visitors in my house in the 3 years I've been here. That's okay, though. So I don't need a lot of spirits for entertaining. It's getting cold here so last week I got some gin and some no-calorie tonic. Yum! Gin and tonic tastes like Christmas smells! It's very festive to me. But I'll probably get some brandy around the holidays, it tastes good on cold winter nights when the snow is flying outside my windows.

Drinking during Christmas, Whoot whoot.. I would like your address so I can come over too. Back to your discussion I am not so big on drinking but something about the holidays that brings on big cheers, especially when most of my loads of guest really enjoy packing them in. So yup during the holidays it is quite fun in my camp.

I'm coming to your house! Sweets & spirits! :D We don't get any drink at all and only a very small amount of sweets. Don't have a lot of guests coming by either. It sounds to me like you have a very wonderful Christmas time!
