what do you do with you hands,i have my hands on the quilt, but when i wake up they are always behind my head on the pillow.I have always thought why when ever we turn over in the bed why do we not get woken up,only if i hurt myself in my sleep i wake up.When people that snore turn over why do they carry on snoring.

I just hug my pillow tight and go ahead and sleep. I feel really secured when I went to sleep and hug on to something or someone. If ever I will be sleeping somewhere else and there is only one pillow available for me then its ok for me not to have any pillows under my head just to have something to hug while i sleep.

If you always hug your pillow, that means you are a security-less girl. you should be strong to handle this problem. Any question,me is available.

Oh, she's perfectly security-ful! She just knows that her security doesn't come from herself! With me, it's a little different---I'm a slight danger to myself close to sleep (just before sleep and right when I wake up). I'm not quite self-aware at those times---i.e. I feel an itch, I'll scratch it ... no matter HOW far behind my eyeball the itch is! (Well, I know to stop myself; but sometimes that's only an instant after my hand has sprung into action!) So I sleep sort of like I've seen Jean-Luc Picard lie down to sleep on STAR TREK: THE NEXT GENERATION---on my side (sometimes left, sometimes right), with the downside-forearm under my head & -the upside-arm's hand tucked under my downside-shoulder.

I don't Sleep very well at night so I pretty much wake up every time I move or turn roll. I usually go to sleep with one arm up under my pillow and wake myself up moving my arm out from under it. By the way this is a great discussion very few people sleep alike so have different views . ~~Jodi

I guess that is a sign of going deeply to sleep. I have been trying to keep my hands under the covers as one of them wakes up really cold and wakes me up. I do not like waking up with my hands behind my head as that seems to hurt my shoulders, but you are right, sometimes that is where they are.

Interesting post. I find having my hands above my head as the most comfortable position. Wherever else I may try to place them is not as comfortable.

I usually lie on my side with my hands under the pillow. Doesn't matter which side I am on I always seem to have my hands/arms under the pillow.

I use to put one of my arms under my pillow, but for some reason that started hurting my shoulder when I do it. So now, I have this little pillow that I hold to my chest so that I won't put my arm under the pillow, like I am so use to doing. It sounds weird but it works.

I don't know about the snoring except that most people snore harder when they lay on their backs, which is my favorite position. I like my hands under the blankies, where they stay warm.

Hi. jugsjugs. When I wake up my hands are on my pillow, or right beside the side of me. Some people carry on snoring because they don't want to get up. They prefer to just lay down without getting up out of the bed.

When I start to try to sleep Id have my blanket over me, and my hands would be clutching the blanket under the chin.^_^ Aside from that I sometimes stretch out one arm while the other is clutching the blanket. When I wake up, I always see my hands on my sides. Ive never experienced having my hands above my head either in sleeping or in waking up. I guess those are just the mysteries of life, right? Its like why do we still keep breathing even when we're asleep. We dont even really do anything when we're asleep, and we're not conscious to breathe so why are we still breathing? It's also like why cant we keep our eyes open when we sneeze? Have you tried it? We just really cant help it.^_^

My hands tend to be all over the place a lot of the time, depending on how I wish to have my level of comfort. A lot of the time, they are folded right over the top of me, if I am laying on my back. However, I do admit that there are many times where I am all over the place. It is extremely impossible to get into some interesting positions if I keep shifting around. So yeah, they tend to get all over the place. Sometimes they are on top of me. Sometimes they are underneath me. Sometimes they are on one one side or another. There are a lot of the times where my hands tend to not rest into a certain position until I am fully asleep. Then again, I have no idea how I got from where I fell asleep to where I wake up a lot of the time but there you go.

same is the problem with me, the only difference is, your problem is your hands... and mine is my legs...!! when I wake up in the morning, I find my legs folded enough to pain my stomach...!! I missed my college also, because of this problem..!!

haha =D My hands are all over myself?? lol =D Nah, i'm a sleeper. As long as i'm given a bed or a pillow, i will sleep easily. It does not matter how i place my hand, because i will be in different position when i wake up the next day.. lol =D So long my hands are not straight as if lying in a coffin, it's ok for me.. hehe

When I fall asleep, I typically have my left arm under my head and my right arm laying down my side. However, when I wake up in the morning I am typically on my right hand side with my arms intertwined and under my head. I don't tend to wake up when I roll over in my sleep. However, when I was dealing with my back problems a few years ago I would wake up every time that I wanted to move while I was asleep during the night.

My hands more often than not end up at my sides. Sometimes one or other ends up propping one side of my face a little further up the pillow, as somtimes my breathing is slightly constricted if I sleep to the wrong side.

normally i sleep with my hands near my face.. but when i fall asleep i roll around ALOT lol.. i dont ever really wake up though.. im not sure why that is though. maybe because at the time when i roll around most im in deep sleep. i forgot exactly how its called but when i took psychology there's this stage of sleep where you're just so entranced that it takes more for you to be able to get out of it.. and even then your still really sleepy.. i dunno. random fact, incase you didnt already know [:
