What Did You Learn Today?

Apparently, we learn something new every day. So, what did you learn today? I'm currently studying education psychology and I just read a passage about the differences between boys and girls. They even had statistics! Apparently, girls tend to be less assertive and more trusting and boys like to play with things that are more physical and visual. Neat, isn't it?

I learned that I should make a section for each character in my novel. I should know that character's likes and dislkies, concerns, parents, hometown, childhood life, etc.

Well for me, I guess today I learnt that one doesn't need many friends but just a couple of friends would do. Having lots of friends when they don't even know what's going on with you, it's so meaningless. Who'll actually remember you as we aged. Only true friends and they're all you need. That's my lesson of the day! Cheers.

I used to love the psychology courses I took in college. I took General Psychology, Adolescent Psychology, and Life Span Psychology. General Psychology was required for everyone, but the other two I took because I thought it was fascinating.

I do think it's a good idea to find something new to learn everyday...so today I learned about a new craft website and will check it out to further seek out new things to do for my craft business. Usually even if its a new recipe I like to find something new in this world...

Wow your right i guess but some guys also like imagination and creation and some do all these stuff when they find classes boring and i am one of them. Well that's what i learned today. I have also realized the beauty of the night. So calm and pleasant and i am listening to Eminem(Not Afraid) which is one of my favorite songs. I love the night. It's like around 4 am here now and i still can't believe that i am awake. What else should i realize right now let me know... Thank you! Cheers!

Hi Steph, Congratulations on learning something new, but i really don't think that is true. Specially, since as you say, they have statistics. Now Statistics is a great science but you can prove anything with it if you use it unethically. For example, I will be statistically correct if among a group of 10 guys-of which 9 are 5' in height and 1 is 7' in height-I say that this group of guys have a mean height of 5.2'.

Well, I just got up but I already learned something...I was feeding my stray cats on the porch and sat with them so the dog next door wouldn't eat the food. There definitely is a pecking order! Clyde will share his food with the girls but not all the boys--I think he'll share with family but no one else. Among the young ones the girls eat first and the boys wait till they are done or, if there is an extra bowl of food, go to another bowl. Adult girls don't share well except with their (presumed) children or mates. Psychology is interesting, I loved taking courses in that when I was in high school and college. It certainly stated the obvious about boys and girls in your lesson! There are definite differences in psyche and physical ability, no matter what the "equality" screamers say. Viva la difference!

Hmmm, what did I learn? Nothing so far today but, yesterday, when you wrote this discussion, I did learn something. I learned how to throw together an awesome pasta salad. Friends of mine from Baltimore, where I used to live, came by for a visit yesterday. The female of this duo is the most awesome cook I've ever known. She could make rocks and cardboard taste like a gourmet meal. Well, I was planning on shrimp and scallops for dinner so she made a really awesome pasta salad that was so easy even I can make it! I'll definitely be making it from now on.

Yes, I agree that you do learn something new everyday. For me, it is something I read in one of my discussions here in myLot. I had a discussion about smiling, and one response said that there is actually an exercise for that which could help one's disposition for the whole day. Information such as these are nice to file away our heads.

That is pretty neat. The new thing I learned today, is that Mao Zedong committed one of the greatest genocides. About 45-70 million were killed during his time as chairman of the CCP. Have a good day

Stephanie, you won't believe this, but I past up on this discussion when I first read it until I was IMing a friend..I told him about receiving a BR today on mylot and he asked what I meant. When I told him it meant Best Response, he said that he thought I meant for a line break in HTML's I said, well I said BR in upper case, not br in lower case and he said that HTML is not case sensitive, so someone can use Br or bR and it would still work..

Yes, it is interesting. I watch my grandson and am amazed. He is such a little engineer. He will take household items and make a little model car or sticks and popcans and some old clothes and made a 'brother'. He gets a Lego model and doesn't even look at the instructions that much and can put together a motorcycle or transformer in about 45 minutes. Women are more trusting and our down fall at times too.

What I learnt today is nothing never seems to change with me! No matter how hard I try I still battle with the things I wish I didn't have to! Like worring about money, bills,my weight,my car, retirement, getting older and other things. It is an endless battle.

Today I've learned to give more importance to love ones & not to take them for granted. Now that I still have my mom with me, I've resolve to spend as much time as I could with her. And talk with her & let her know that I love her. She's already 63 years old. I know that someday she'll leave me but now that we are still together, I'd like to make the most of it.

Well...not me in particular, but I taught my fiance the difference between a katana and a wazikashi. Both are types of samurai swords. We were watching Kill Bill today and suddenly got talking, uhm, debating actually, about how the Scottish claymore would compare to a Katana. It was very interesting.
