What would be your reaction if a close friend came out to you? Me? I would be happy that they had the courage to jump out of the closet and proud that they picked me to tell! My mom said it best , granted she was talking about gas but it works here too, there's more room out that in.

My reaction would either be "yeah I figured" or "ok I still like you just as much"...

Great. I don't have the ability to know who's gay or not so I wait for people to tell me. I even just ask , do you have a steady? Not a girl/boy friend or are you married? Then I wait for the answer so i know what pronouns to use!

Well I can't tell from looking at somebody, but if I have a male friend who has male roommates, and tells people stories about why he's not married, eventually I come to the conclusion that he may be gay...

I personally don't care what choice anyone makes about that sort of thing. If they are a good person they would still always be my friend no matter what...as long and they keep it within their own life. I am not gay nor will I ever be...just don't hit on me and we can be lifetime friends.

I think if she made a pass, you would Know she was gay! if she is your friend first, she isn't going to go after you. She Already knows you are straight! what if it were a male friend?

I'd be the same way because it would be awesome that this person would feel comfortable enough to share this when it has to be so difficult to deal with it just by yourself let alone the other people you know because you just can't always tell how people would react to the news.

Well it depends on how I feel about the individual. While I don't hate gay people, my experiences with gay people had been similar as with racist folks. Some gay people act like I / some of us, owe them something. I had actually been looked down on by some and some had actually made a pass at me. Needless to say I had to put them on their place, as I did not appreciate them for it. Personally I don't care if they are gay or not, as long as they don't think I owe then anything or should share their stupid views for things and life.
