That question is hard to answer since a good online game is judged by the player himself, not by reviews by other people. Some games had good ratings from game reviewers but when I actually played it I had a hard time enjoying the game. For now in terms of graphics and gameplay I like Rohan due to the whole server being a PK map.

The most successful online game ever has obviously been World of Warcraft (everyone has heard of it). It has over 10million players and is still growing stronger. Whether being the most successful and the best is the same thing, is something you'll have to think about. Personally I believe it is.
