Buying in sales

Now I can't remember if I have commented that I am going on holiday in two weeks or not!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Today though I decided to treat myself to some nice new clothes for my holiday, what I love about going away somewhere hot outside our British 'summer'( I do use the word very lightly fellow Brits!!)is that you can pick up some fantastic clothes in the end of season sales as the stores make way for the winter clothes. Today I managed to get loads of new underwear, pj's, a coat, 2 tops, a dress, a pair of sandals and 2 pairs of trouser (all from really good shops) for £50 - I added up the cost they should have been before discount and it came to £300 !! I do LOVE a bargain! Do any of you wait for the sales to buy your clothes or do you prefer to pay the full price?

I wait for sales if I am sure the thing will go on sale, otherwise I buy it straight away (some items never go on sale and sell out very fast). I love sales but they are not good for everything...

I have waited for the sales to get myself a much needed new winter coat - I got a beauty for half price!! I have 5 birthdays in February ( 1 son, 1 daughter and 3 grandkids) so at the moment I am buying their presents in the sale!!

Oh honey...you are talking about my favorite subject. BARGAINS!!!! I love a good bargain. I get incredible excited when I know I have saved a bunch of money. And what a bargain you snagged...you saved over 75%...way to go!!! I never buy anything full price at all. I usually wait until it gets to the bargain basement prices before I shop. I have to say, as strange as it sounds, I am jealous of your terrific bargains.

I only pay full price about once or twice a year. Mostly I just wait for what I want to hit the sales rack. It does make me feel good to do it, too.

Think I've only ever paid full price in the last decade or so for things like weddings - and not always then!! I'm getting tight in my old age (or is that poor!!!!!)

Hi Oldchem! Wow! That's a great bargain. Imagine how much you have saved. I like shopping when there's a sale too that way I can save money, to buy more, lol. I'm planning to do some shopping soon, just waiting for the right time cause sale here usually happens in the middle week or last week of the month. I can't wait. Have a great day!

It's great not feeling guilty when I've bought a whole lot of clothes!! I'm not the type of person who bothers much about clothes - hey half of my wardrobe is probably older than half the members on here!! But I do love the odd (bargain) shopping spree!

Both of us are average to slightly short on size, so rarely find that items that fit us are often available in sales. We usually find XL or S available- which are either end of what we need! We do pick up a few bargains from the likes of TJMax or TJ Hughes: but that's about digging a bit.

Yes the clothes do tend to be a lot of one size, it's a case of luck in a lot of cases. Must admit it's a great feeling when so many clothes are too big!!!!!!

Yes bet ya i do!! you save couple bucks! why not i do that for every season as stores need to change their inventory as the weather changes as well so yeah it is really convenient to buy clothes at the end of a season!!

I am not that much of a fashion icon so I don't care if my clothes are 'this season'!!

You got a good bargain. But it is different case in my country where they are not honest when it comes to sales. Some shops have sales everyday but their tricks is to jerk up the prices to fool the unsuspecting customers by placing a 50% discount on the supposedly original pricing. When I calculate their 50% discount the cost of the clothes are still expensive. I would prefer to shop overseas when their sales mean real sales where I feel the worth of my money buying cloths or bags during the end of season sales.

That used to be the case here and I think still happens a lot in the big January Sales. I go to the shops that are just getting rid of the end of season stuff and I usually get some great bargains

I also wait to have more sales in ou department store to buy more things for us. Because in sales you will get of almost more that half discounts of items we would like to buy and because it was in big discounts we can add more things. I like to buy in sales and I'm happy buying in this stores. Aside from being cheap and discounted they are also still new.

Well, I love to have nice clothes, but as usual, to have a nice clothes we need to spend for it. I do love bargain especially of quality and branded clothes. We all know that branded are really expensive, so when it is in bargain, that's the time I coulf afford that. But I usually after the quality, so if it is really in need to have a specific item, be it in bargain or not, I would prefer to go for it.

Some of the prices of the 'NEW IN TODAY' clothes I saw were ridiculous there is no way that I could justify spending that type of money on clothes

yes i also do my major shopping in sales actually it saves a lot of money. in off season sales you can easily get discounts upto 70% and thus you can purchase more with same amount of spending and you can even save money rest of the time to spend in sales. i am an avid clothes buyer but not a shopaholic so i save money to purchase at a right time at big bargains. you can even get branded clothes in a sale and that according to me is the best part of the sale.

Like me, I rarely go clothes shopping, I have and wear clothes that are years old - but when I do go I always go at sales times, it feels really good to get a bargain.
