There were few remarkable performance in the test match - Tendulkar innings of 98 & 38 Watson with a century and half Ishant with good 2nd inning spell & the innings of his life 31 runs VVS with his batting India won, though not in the 1st inning Zaheer with a fifer in 1st inning and 3 in the 2nd, which ultimately won him the MOM. Who according to you deserved the MOM???

I would rather award 'Men of the match' to umpires Billy Bowden and Ian Gould. Giving OUT for notouts and ruling Notout the OUTs. Very funny to watch. At every moment, they were making twists, turning the match interesting all the way.

Is that the only? Gambhir's Bat & Pad was given LBW. Ishant's notout was given out. Ojha plumb LBW was given not out. It seems, sometimes Umpires also want play. How long they can watch others playing? So, they might have decided to play.

No way VVS Laxman was only deserved to award for m.o.m.,india got winning only because of fighting till last ball with tail orders,he did lose courage and concentration due to lot of pressure and backpain,i was eagerly waiting in presenting ceremony to laxman award for m.o.m. but saw something unbelievable.

In my opinion it should have been Ishaant. I know that he did not bowl well in the first innings, but he batted well in the first innings as a night watchman. Then his spell in the second innings was the turning point of the Aussie innings. Of course his match winning knock at the end. It was sad that a poor decision got him out just before the finish line, but I think he deserved it. But Zaheer also did his part in both the innings with the ball, so really do not grudge him getting it. As far as VVS is concerned, yes it was a very special innings, but he did not contribute any thing in the first innings or on the field to get the man of the match award. Cheers! Ram

I f I were the match referee I would definitely give the Man Of The Match Award to V.V.S.Laxman.Because without him India could have never reached the target. This is my view only and is not having any disrespect to Zaheer. He too bowled well. But Laxman batted with a back injury and only he was there in the end to reach India to the target

I think Zaheer was the correct decision. In 1st inning Ishant got injured and left the field in early stage only and that Australians were in the hold of the game and then Zaheer was the only bowler who took wickets and because of him, India with 3 bowlers got out Australian team with just 400+ total.

Hi richclass, I think Ishant Sharma's spell in second innings in which he took Wickets of Watson, Ponting and Clark was the turning point of the match. That spell along with his batting in both innings deserved a man of the match. But as commented above there is no grudge in Zaheer getting that man of the match. His contribution in the match is equally great as that of VVS and Sachin.
