I've never tried that and I never will. I love any form of chocolate, so that is a thumb down for me.

but if its mixed in, it might have a different taste? .. i mean when you cook with chocolate you use salt with it.. the only difference is your drinking it.

I've never tried putting salt in my chocolate milk drink. I never thought that it's necessary since the drink is supposed to be sweet and putting salt would make it a little salty. I would try it though. I'm a very big fan of chocolate and I'm open to ideas which would enhance my 'chocolatey' experience. Just a pinch though. I don't think I'm ready for a spoonful.

Let's try it and see how it would taste like. Good luck to us. I hope it wouldn't ruin my drink.

I have never put salt into chocolate milk. I just don't see how this would improve the taste of it.

Chocolate tastes great with a pinch of salt! Salt adds what's called "depth" to the taste of chocolate. Most brands of chocolate available in the stores have a bit of salt, just check the label. It's most commonly found in caramel squares. There are also some types of chocolate bars which contain larger grains of salt, those are a bit odd, but pretty good too. I add a bit of salt to everything I make at home, including cookies, cakes and pralines. It just feels right :) If you want something completely weird to add to your chocolate, try chili or red peppers. A friend gave me once; have to admit that was too much even for me :)

Just a pinch, what you can take on the tip of a knife. I don't want it to taste salty, just to enhance the chocolate flavor. Plus, I'm worried that I eat too much salt every day as it is. Try adding a little, you'll figure out when it's enough. Worst case scenario, you'll ruin just one glass, but you'll learn what you want for next time :)

Hi. chuelova09. Welcome to myLot! No, I don't think that chocolate milk taste any better than it does with salt at all. I will never use this in anything that is sweet. I can't see how anyone can add salt in their chocolate milk at all. I don't see this as being a tasty combination at all.

I don't prefer doing this. A spoonful of salt? You are killing yourself. Just think of drinking just a glass of any beverage or even water with s spoonful of salt. Salt is good for us as long as it is taken in a right amount. The more salt or excessive intake of salty foods will kill your internal organs. What more if every time you drink a glass of milk or chocolate milk you put a spoonful of salt. That's a disaster. Like for me, i drink 2 glass of milk and 1 glass of hot chocolate a day since it's part of my diet in bodybuilding, if you total the salt intake i have for a day that would be 3 spoon. Just think of it, 3 spoon of salt a day. Whoa! I do not recommend having salt in you chocolate milk.
