We have our internet access in our workplace and every break I find many people opening their facebook accounts. Worst, others are visiting the site on even working hours. I recommend blocking the site in offices since this will become a problem in the future in terms of work efficacy and efficiency. I can’t relay the info to our admin because even them are doing the same. What’s your side on this?

There is a way to get both sides happy. Block access to all unnecessary websites but only during work hours, Let the employees access them during lunch hours. This can be done if the head of the office agrees to it.

well, in my previous job they have blocked all unnecessary sites including facebook, friendster, any social sites that can contribute on the negative performance of every employee in every department. unfortunately, someone leaked a program that can unblocked the sites. so, facebook was again used in many offices. but when the head of the MIS department noticed, she decided to have a mandatory preventive check of computers wherein the agenda is to primary delete unnecessary programs installed in every computers and blocked facebook in the server. many were got mad at her, but its for the benefit of the company.

that move was great but it's not effective in our work place since most of us are computer literate.some of us are even SEO and knows a lot about computers.what i want to note is discipline and practice shame for themselves. respect for the job and the company as well is necessary.
