There are many arguments about the advantages and disadvantages of examination. Some people think examination is the only way to test how examinees have mastered what they have studied and it is the only measurement for examiners to select which person they need. While, on the other hand, some object that examination can't measure how the students have really studied. They say it can do nothing but burden the students. What's your opinion on this question?

Hi, Yes,I agree that there are so many arguments about the advantages and disadvantages of EXAMINATION.I think EXAMINATION would test our knowledge and creativity skills. It is just like a qualification. The EXAMINATION should be conducted regularly instead of tests. If EXAMINATIONS are conducted for three months once and the student needs to learn all the subjects they have studied those three months. It is a big burden for some students. So a new EDUCATION system should be brought out to prevent the burden of students. But some scholars say that EXAMINATION should be conducted for whole portions which would provide great knowledge to the students.According to my view, due to Examinations some students grow up while others come down. For higher jobs only EXAM marks will give a chance for their employment.

Hi, Of course, the system should be changed.EXAMINATION is not just like a test it is the main qualification. Those students who come down have to again spent some time and learn their subjects. This brings a lot of burden on students.

Hi, sami I agree with what you said. Due to the examination some students grow up while others come down. Some people will look down on a poor student. What's more, this prejudice will make the students lose their heart to study any more. Maybe this system need to change a lot.

Unfortunately the examinations is the only way a person can find what is looking for. There are a lot of types of examination. There are really stressing and not original examination methods and methods where the examined doesn't know to be examined because it's so involving and interesting he doesn't care about it. For example: a teacher gives to a class a specific problem about the last studied argument. He asks questions to the class, he lets students guess and try to solve together a step for every student. That would be a very useful, interesting and original (or unusual) way to examinate someone.

Yeah I also think that's a trick for exams: knowing that you gave the best. When you are 100% you've done all you can I swear your fear, your tension simply goes away when it comes the moment to the exam. There's nothing like knowing you did the best you can, if it goes wrong doesn't matter. You were the best, on your own ;) That's the way I try to see the exams...:)

Hi, Talking about examination, it reminded me of my school time. I always got anxious when come to examination.I have to memorize my notes well and hope what I studied did come out in the examination questions. From my point of view, examination is part and parcel of study and it is a way to test the student whether they actually knew well that particular subject and it is alsp a way to test the student capability to solve problems.

Examinations are a way to measure the candidate's ability. Who ever says this is in correct in my point of view. The examinations are good to inculcate the competitiveness among the students, candidates and those who take the exams. But it would be wrong to say that these are the final measures when it comes to accessing the abilities and skills of the participants. I may have prepared well for the exams but it is just that they asked me those things that I skipped and this in no way should imply that I am less competent. I would not consider the examinations to be a burden, instead I would consider them to be a place / situation where I can learn and master the attributes of - timeliness, performance, competitive spirits and such good things. If I fail in the examinations, I take it up as a challenge to perform better the next time and never think that I am in anyway inferior. It is just that the luck was not by my side or I need to do a better preparation.

I think think anyone truly loves examinations, whether we are prepared or not for them they are like Ugh a chores. However I believe examinations are a challenge to how we absorb and utilize the materials at hand. I suppose not being prepared ban extremely burden a student. However who likes them anyway.

Yes, I agree with what you said. Though most of the students say boring with the examination, they also wanna take it to check what they had learned. After all, this is a useful way to test what they had learned at present.

i think there is nothing wrong with examination. pros and cons about something is normal. lets say if there is no examination, how can we measure students understanding about one certain topic or material? giving only material to the students without having any feedback from students about what they have learned and understood will make the teacher and students confused whether the material shared is really comprehended or not. so, better examination is applied. it is perhaps a burden for students, but that could be the reason for students to study...

Well,Some Examinations are of 2 or 3 hours durations, we have to do well in this period, what we have studied in whole year. Some says it all about luck,FOR-EXAMPLE A student successfullyy attempted all questions, He only prepared last 4 lessors, On the other hand, A student skipped last 4 lessons, while he was prepared for other 8 lessons, and he failed in the examination. Examinations tests mostly Written skills. No concept of communication skills here which is essential part of life.

Maybe this is not a perfect way to test students, but there has to be a modality for teachers to know how the students have assimilated the courses. And there has to some sort of division between students, what is regarded to the amount of knowledge they got. I prefer to have exams at the end of the semesters and then we need to learn a lot and the rest of the semester we are free and it is not a must to learn during it.

I've never liked exams but it does give me the motivation to study harder. It puts you under a lot of stress and I think it's a good indicator for most pupils on how much they know. If you were ill or having a bad day or worrying about other stuff and you fail then that's when it's tough luck for you. Just hope for the best as it's chance as well as having studied. People have different abilities on different things so don't worry if you have failed, just try harder lolz

Well, examinations can come in different types. Some enhances the memorization others makes one think more. Though it may burden students more, with all the memorization and stuff but i guess exams and quizzes is one way to test out those things we learn. there is such thing as OJT or projects to show off their abilities other than in written exams. I still see it as an exam though so yeah, examinations test our mind and see if ever we have truly learned something from all the studying we did.

Although the examination can't completely measure how the students studied,we have to admit that there are many talent people who are picked out by examinations or competetions in our society. There still are some disadvantages of examination, but we need to try to accept it without protest.comparatively speaking,it is the most subjective way to judge students whether they acturally master the knowledge.

For students, they make think its a burden to their part. but the truth is, Examinations will help them test their comprehension skills. On the other hand , examinations is not the only instrument to test the mastery skills of the examinees. Gross motor skills may be tested through return demonstrations. Students can make videos, or powerpoints to improve their creativity and the way they will think will expand more. For me application will help too, in testing the students' skills.

i think the examination will be the most useful way to test on a person before other useful methods are proposed.it offers some information about the students'problems with their studies in some way.i don't think it's a burden to sudents.conversely,i think it will be a motivation in their studies.

....for me examination is the only way to test the students knowledge or to test their capabilities of that particular subjects....But...examination also is the way of dishonesty because some students might not give their best efforts on the day 0of examination, they tend to cheat because they failed to study that's why they get high scores.....:-)
