Why is it important to God that You Believe????

Seems like religions all over the world tell you that you must believe in God. Some will tell you that by merely believing in God that you are sure to go to heaven. Why is it important to God that you believe???? Even if one never believes in God, they will see God after death so why is believing so important?? Some might say that believing makes us better people but does it really??? Consequences have always been a better teacher than anything else. Life is the education of God's children. If it were all about beliefs, wouldn't that make life no more than a game to be played??? What would be the point??? Can you really hear a Being capable of creating universes saying: You better believe or I'll burn you in a fiery pit for eternity???? Does that really make good sense???? Religions must have believers. They must have followers. Without them, religion could not exist. Believing is only important to religion. God isn't playing games. He is merely teaching His children.

Nobody really knows, actually. In fact this part of religion is what I find wrong. What about those people who never heard of God? They won't go to heaven because of this? What about those Ancient civilizations who believed in some other religion? Like those Egyptians who went against the Christian god. In fact, the gods of those ancient civilizations have more proof of existence than our own god. There were discoveries in the Mayan, Egyptian and other pyramids that are beyond human. And since religion is man-made. Lets say I would make a religion. The first thing I need to get are believers and followers. And so, I shall spread word to people that they should believe in me. Perhaps that is the logic behind it? Who knows, really, nobody can really tell anymore. So we're just stuck with many possibilities.

What proof of these other gods do you have? There are only statues left of their existence or being worship.

In the pyramids, people have discovered writings that have airplanes, helicopters and other modern day stuff. Nothing from that time. And the pyramids itself are proof of a greater being. Even til now, nobody can make those without the use of the modern day tools. If not proof of a god then, proof of a greater being.

If God exists, then He can be found. If it is good in God's eyes, as you say, when one believes in Him, how much happier will God be when you actually discover Him???? God doesn't have to be a belief. Thanks for your comments!!!

gishanhair01, welcome. Do you know the reason God doesn't directly speak to more people??? God has very high intelligence. Added to that so many people see what they want to see rather than what is, and people come out of the conversation confused. Everything you do in life will come back to you in time. This is God's way of teaching.God sets the parameters of your life along with the people you come across but we each make our free choices. It's up to each of us. Praying to God can be no more than a simple thought. People do pray and beg God to take their problems away but God is the one who sends the problems. We learn to not only stand on our own two feet, but also we become smarter and stronger having overcome the problem. If you pray to God and ask for something and it will not change the lessons for you or those around you, then God will give it. It wouldn't make sense to stop the lessons simply because things are getting a bit tough. Where is God hiding?? All knowledge must be earned. In the struggle to attain knowledge, we acquire wisdom. All the secrets of the universe stare us in the face. Can you see?? How long did mankind watch birds fly before they figured out how?? It's all a test of intelligence. In this cause and effect physical universe, God's actions can be seen. Knowledge runs deep beneath the surface of things. When you start to understand why and how things work, you will see the genius behind it all. Maybe at this point, your view won't be so narrow and you can discover God for yourself. All of mankind carries a very narrow view. I work on mine everyday. Thanks for all your comments!!

I agree with you Bird. God exists only because we let him exist because of our belief in Him. I believe in God but God is not the only thing that helps or keeps me alive. I believe that being a human, the only religion that I pursue and follow is the religion of Humanity and Brotherhood. I can find God that way and no one can force me not to or to believe anything.

God exists whether anyone believes or not. People often think that the way to discover God is through religion. There are many ways to discover God. For some religion can even prevent one from discovering the real truth. In the end we all choose our path. There are many roads that will take one to the same place. Thanks for all your comments!!

Experience is the only basis of knowledge. If there is God, and if you want to know Him, you must experience Him. Now, next question is How to experience God? For that one has to have a powerful Teacher who must have experienced God - like Jesus Christ. One must note that such powerful Teachers have undergone tremendous difficulties and unbearable sufferings in there lives, without which none has reached to that stage. One should not believe blindly in anything. If you do not want to believe in God, please do not believe. But if you are enthusiastic and do wish to konw how to unveil the ultimate TRUTH, I can offer a 229 page scientific ebook which takes you to God step by step. Interested persons may write to me at research125@gmail.com

So Jesus Christ is a great teacher. Hmmm? That could very well be true, however Jesus has not been around for a very long time. All information as to anything Jesus said was not written by Jesus but by mankind. Everybody wants to rule the world is deeply set in mankind. The question remains. Should one look for God in a book??? I never found God in a book, but I did find God. Should you follow others to find God??? Isn't it a journey we must each discover on our own? If one just follows, one could end up anyway. You will never find God in a box so neatly packaged by religion. You do have the power to discover God. Perhaps, one must be brave enough to walk in undiscovered country to make the big discoveries. I know that is in each and every one. After all, you are all special. You are children of God. THanks for all your comments!!

It is a natural tendency for a human being to believe in God and depend on him. That should be so because we are his creation, his master piece in fact, and He is the Source of Life.

Deep down we all know God. Who knows the reasons people choose to ignore this fact. Regardless whether one believes in God or not, will not change God or the goal for His children. God loves all His children unconditionally. In that, God will educate His children. In time we will all acquire all the secrets of the universe along with great wisdom. How bumpy the road is to this end will be the choice of each of us. Thanks for all your comments!!

First off I have a question how important is it for one's children to believe in their parents. It a natural process child just do at and early age and it make us as parents feel good also to see such faith and trust. God is not difference since we are made in his image plus. I faith and trust in him gives a reply to Satan challenge for a Proverb 27:11

So our faith in God makes God feel good but isn't necessary. Parents would take care of their kids regardless of their kid's beliefs. OK! I can go along with that. Of course, satan doesn't really exist except in the minds of mankind who feel the need to blame someone for their choices. Thanks for all your comments!!

Why did God create humans with the ability to reason and not just survive by instinct if it isn't important to Him that we believe in Him? If we are of so little importance to Him that He doesn't even care if we believe in Him, then why the lessons you keep saying He's trying to teach us? Why did God make man in His image if he didn't want to have a relationship with him and how can you have a relationship with someone who doesn't believe in you? I believe it's important to God that we believe in Him because He loves us and wants to be loved by us. How can God receive love from us if we don't believe in Him?

Is life just about survival?????? A higher intelligent life form might describe mankind as living on instinct. Everything is relative. God doesn't want His children to merely believe. God wants His children to KNOW!!! God loves all His children unconditionally. God has no need for us to love Him. This might sound funny to you but God already knows we will love Him.

My first sentence says plainly that life for man isn't just about survival. That higher intelligent life form (God) didn't create us to live by instincts alone. I agree that God wants us to know, but you have to believe first. True believers don't doubt, they have every confidence even if they can't prove to the worlds satisfaction. They know. God may not need our love, but I believe He wants it. When you say, "...we will love Him," I suppose you mean everyone? I don't agree with that. I believe there are many who hate God for whatever reason. I believe a lot of the people who say they don't believe in God really do but have become angry with Him. I think you can find that with some of the so called atheist here on Mylot. The tone of their discussions or responses shows their hatred of God.

You simply do not Understand!! God's Unconditional Love feels so good that you would do anything for it. Why do you think all of God's children want God to take all the problems and troubles away???? It's because we are all spoiled. We all have known God's Unconditional Love and want nothing else. Kiddies must, however go back to school. So true believers in your words never doubt. Isn't that foolish since a belief might not always be true. God wants us all to question. That is the start on the journey to wisdom. It's religion that doesn't want you to doubt or question. So doubt all you want, but then search for the real truth and facts. People who don't want you to doubt or question want to shield you from the real truth. Thanks for your comments!!

God created man to have fellowship with Him. If there is no belief, there is no fellowship.

Is belief really necessary for fellowship???? I don't think so. A belief is no more than a patch that covers the unknown when all the facts are not known. They keep us from locking up like my old computer. God wants us to know the truth. He wants us to discover it all for ourselves. It will take a very very long time of learning not to need a patch of some kind with the knowledge God has. One would never find fellowship with your view. Thanks for your comments!!

Please forgive my bluntness, but your responses make me want to gag. Instead of sounding philosophical you just sound nonsensical. How can there be a mutual sharing without belief? God may stand at the door and knock, but until the nonbeliever comes to an understanding that God does exists and makes the effort to let Him in there is no fellowship.

There is nothing to forgive. I request that everyone comes to my door as they are. Just like God wants Be who you must! It's a part of the plan!! If someone knocks on your door, you don't need to believe anything to answer the door. You know something is knocking. That's a fact. The proof that God exists falls on the ones who search. Interaction with God does not depend upon beliefs. God doesn't need your belief to shape you or your life. Since God is capable of creating universes, He can surely teach a few kids. God to me is not a belief or a faith. God is a fact just as I know you exist. I could never ever base my life on beliefs for I must know the truth about everything. A belief is no more than a direction to search for the truth. I hope you don't stop at believing. Beliefs aren't always true. Can you base your life on something that might not be true???? If you can say yes, then the truth means nothing to you. Thanks for all the comments!! You are always welcome at my door.

I do not believe in him. I do not feel as though we are made in his image. I am not arrogant enough to think that we are such a special species that we DESERVE to be loved by some 'superior being'. And I, believing in life on other planets which defies the integrity of the bible, can in no way even find a fraction of proof that some 'superior being' exists. I do not think people should tell you what to believe. I don't want to believe in idols. God is created by people who want an excuse as to call themselves rulers of the world because God created them; there is no reason. We just want to feel better about ourselves and now everyone believes it because that is what we've been taught.

Isn't it only Ego that tells people mankind is the smartest being in the universe??? Faced with even the possibility that God exists, shouldn't one search for the truth???? This is not to say anyone should go out and join a religion. I want you to lead in the search not follow. Results will be much better. Thanks for your comments!!

I personally would find it absurd that Someone that made us so wonderful would not communicate with us about himself and tell us how to live.

Yes! You are making a good point! People like to think of God as a very olde man sitting on a cloud with his feet hanging over. The God I believe in is not a being as such, but a Force. This Force doesn't care what we do or what we believe. We are not here to learn, but to experience. As a creation of the Force we are already all-knowing, but we agree to forget as soon as we incarnate on earth. The experience is important because this is the way we can grow towards truth and closer to the Force. Heaven and hell are religious creations formulated to extract money from the gullible. The truth about reincarnation was deleted from the bible almost 500 years after the Great Scam (Christianity) was perpetrated on humanity. The whole idea of sin, is the Greatest sin that was ever invented by man. The Force isn't worried about how you live (or sin) Its all up to you, and how you evolve towards the Force. The Golden Rule is a very important guide to the best life style. Follow the Golden Rule and give your tithing to those who are in need!

Interesting view. God is not what religion teaches. God does exist in more than a simple force. Do you know why God doesn't come out and talk with more people???? If He did most people would come out confused over the experience. God is very very high intellect. Mankind has such narrow thinking. You could not believe how that limits mankind. God has shown me mine.I work on my narrow view everyday. You are right. THe golden rule is always good advice. Don't give up the search because you believe God is a force. Be open for the possibilities. You are closer to discovery than you know. Everything about the universe does add up. There is genius behind it all. Thanks for all your comments!!

hi bird123, we'll i think there's is no other way to communicate with Him. when we pray, we have to believe, when we praise, we have to believe, too. that's the only way. how He can help us if we don't believe. but still his decision, how He will do something to make us believe. happy mylotting. :-)

Have you been taught there is no other way to God than through someone else??? Have you been taught communication with God is only one way???? Have you been taught the only way to God is through beliefs??? Seems what you have been taught is limiting you to the possibilities. THe limits are not with God but with you and your conditioned beliefs. Try thinking out of the box. You might just be surprised at what is actually possible. Thanks for all your comments!!

I always believe in god because god created all of us and this whole universe. I think god is in with us because we are son/daughter of god. So I always believe in them and when I go for any good works then I always pry firstly to God that they blessed us.

Yes, God is in each of us. We shouldn't have to believe. We should know. The physical world supplies many distractions. WE choose what is our focus. Thanks for your comments!!

I dis-agree with your discussion that all religions say that they must believe in god, most are not forced, yet some are forced, although who here believes that there is actually hell or heaven, although i myself, resent to this, but there are many out there that still believe that there is hell and heaven.

I must admit there are more religions in the world that I don't know everything about, probably several hundred. The basis of religion is beliefs. Is it important to God that you believe??? Hardly. Hell does not exist except in the consequences returned to us. Some say they seem like hell. Religion has been using hell to scare those who won't believe into believing. Heaven, on the other hand, does not exist as described in holy books, however we will all know God's unconditional love that will heal all hurt. There is nothing better. Thanks for all your comments!!
