The Americans don't like cricket because they can't play.
It's too slow for them.
They love their fast sports like baseball, basketball etc.
Cricket is a refined English Gentlemans game.

i agree thatc ricket is a refined english gentleman's game.but it can be applicable to test cricket.but the shorter version on cricket,ie; one day cricket is as exciting as baseball.now the 20-20 cricket is also into the stands.it takes only 2 hours to complete a game.

Interesting. I am American and I don't really like any sports. But my guess would be that we see cricket as an English thing. English baseball. We don't grow up with it or know anything about it. No one really talks about it. It's not on TV or radio, unless maybe now you could find it on some obscure cable station or the internet, but you'd have to really be looking for it. No one plays it in school. I think maybe because people think baseball is basically the same thing?
I don't know if ESPN plays it or not, because I don't watch that, so maybe someone else will answer. I just sort of think of Hugh Grant talking about it. LOL. (Does he do that in some movie?) I bet American men think it's not that manly? Like they would have to cross their legs and sip tea if they watched cricket. I dunno.

ha ha ha! well said.but pal,i bet it,specially one day cricket is too much exciting, you wont be able to find a near comparison.i know about baseball and its too exciting but not as much as cricket.i just checked out that americans has a national cricket team they participated in the 1996 world cup qualifying matches and they lost all the three matches.so unfortunately they did not make it to the main tournament.one cricket tournament occasionally held in toronto and it was held for few years lastly in 1999.you can search for it.and yeah i am not sure ESPN shows the cricket matches there in usa or not as cricket is not well popular there but it regularly shows crcket here in indian subcontinets and also in australia, nezealand, southafrica, west indies etc.

hey come on.who told cricket is a boring game.yeah you can tell it about the test cricket.but the shorter version,ie;oneday cricket is not like this.just see a match, any match and you willa ble to feel the heat.it can be as exciting as your american baseball, may be more than that.
