What you do if a cheque given by some to you is bounced. In my country there are laws to file a suit against the person if the cheque is bounced. But nothing happens. So those bouncers are really getting heavier. I think there must be some strict punishment and easily implementable. What are your experiences and views.

Who said "nothing happens" regarding a dishonored checque in India? As far as I know, it is a serious offence, leading to rigorous imprisonment.

You should probably talk to the person who gave you the cheque. If it's bounced, there's probably a reasonable explanation for this. It's probably best if you clear it up with the person who gave you the cheque.

Checks are invalid means of payment in Europe. You can't use them.

The only time that I've received a check from someone that bounced was when I was selling Tupperware and the person that wrote the bad check to me did it completely accidentally. The check that she wrote was for $3.49. The bank didn't do anything to her and I didn't prosecute either because I knew that she would make good on it. She actually sent me an email before the bank caught the error and let me know about it. Now, if it had been someone that I didn't know, I would have prosecuted them for cold checks.

I think you maybe contacted to the person when Cheque bounced and he/she give you a cheque. Because the reason of bouncing cheque is sometimes there is not much amounts in a persons accounts who gives you cheque for taking money.
