Imagine a youngster, putting in tons and tons of runs every year and getting ignored by selectors. Suddenly gets picked against one of the top teams of the world and suddenly makes it into the playing eleven. Watches India's top batsmen of the past two decades make batting look easy and when his chance comes hits a four straight away and thinks he is there!! What does he get a snorter next ball and is out!! Second innings, captain sends him ahead of his idol Dravid to win a match for India and what does he do, play one of the best 4th innings knock by a debutant for India to win the match. Cheteshwar Pujara is here to stay!! Cheers! Ram

Honesty i saw his batting first time. I mean i had saw him before but in fielding or somewhere else not seen his batting.. But i have seen his both inning against Australia in test. I must say he was unlucky in his first inning as ball got low .. But he was quite good in second inning. I was surprised when he was promoted in second inning but he was very well and lead India to win.. Surely he should deserve chance in current Indian team.

I think sending him one down was the first step in grooming him as the replacement of Rahul Dravid. Cheers! Ram

May be.. But he surely look more aggressive batsman in compare of Dravid.. His second inning run rate was quite good as per test match.

Agreed. Looks like we have a player who can play in two different gears. But hey let's not jump to conclusions based on one innings. The real benefit of Dravid is when we go overseas and the pitch has something in it for the fast bowlers. Let's see how Pujara fares then. Cheers! Ram

Pujaras play was outstanding. In the 1st innings he was out due to bad luck. The way he played is one of the reason India win the match. I think he should be included in the coming test matches also and shuld be given opportunity. He is a fantastic player. The way he paced his innings was also very mature. I think he should be included in test more instead of Yuvraj. Yuvrajs performance in test is poor.

Yes, I think the New Zealand tour should be one where we should blood these youngsters a bit more. I think we can give Laxman some more time to get ready for the South African tour. Cheers! Ram

He played very well with the golden oppurtunity he got. In the first innings he was given out due to a bad decision. But in the 2nd innings he got a good chance to play and he utilised it superbly

First of all we should give credit to dhoni to send him up the order ignoring dravid, who is the best on that position in the world. dravids out of form matches helped him to gain that spot. in first innings he was out in a doubtfull lbw. in second innings he grabbed the oppurtunity and performed well. he may become the replacement for dravid in future.

Yes, a dream debut for Cheteshwar Pujara. He is being said the next Dravid replacement. The positive intent with which he batted meant he is a very confident player. He had scored heaps and heaps of runs in domestic cricket and he finally got a chance and he grabbed it. Good luck of him in future

Yes, I just loved the confident manner in which he took on Hauritz. His coming down the tracks against Hauritz seems such a fresh breath as off late our batsmen seem to have lost this art!! Cheers! Ram
