Safety is on top priority but these days i worry too much about safety. The crime rate is high and there are many road accidents happening. Going home very late at night is big No no to me for there are many bad people roaming around. Is there any places that is safer to live? How about your country? or your area? Is it safe there?

hi tess__quinain I live in Garden Grove Calfornia in Gold Crest a retirement center and here I do feel very safe but even in the US you should not walk alone late at night in dark areas but here in my vicinity it has a very low crime rate. now Santa Ana a few miles away has a large illegal mexican immigrant populaiton with teenage vicious gangs that make the town really unsafe as they do drive by shooings every night and innocent people are often killed as they were o ut walking late a night and were mistqken for opposing gangs members. I do not go into that area atall ever. too dangerous.

I think there is no place is as secure as what we wanted it to be. I think it would depend to its people, to the government and to us on how we deal with every day situation. I am 22 and I am born and raised in the city where I lived right now, in some reason I can say that somehow we have a peaceful community because if not my family and I moved out long time ago. Accidents are meant to surprise anyone and it's not predictable it happens anywhere in the whole world in every 2 minutes. Just my opinion...

to me, there is nothing safe place in this world. all places have consequences and has criminality thing, in a low or a high rate. including my place, though it seems to be a very safe place but still there is crime inside, robbery, killing, rapes and so on. the most important thing we do is to be aware and to take care ourselves and has well behaved in environment..

Don't know where you live but where I'm located in Canada is pretty safe. I can walk around anytime of night I wish or anything like that but I also don't scare easily. I have 3 kids and raised them here all there lives without a problem so I guess overall its a pretty decent place to live other then the taxes. Now that scares me!lol

No place on earth is safe anymore. Even though my country is not a battlefield but the crime rate is on the rise. I just cannot feel safe anymore in my country when I read murders, rape and robberies everyday in the papers. I can no longer leave my front door open and had all my windows grilled with iron bars. Even earthquakes and other natural disasters are happening around the globe which makes us all feel that we are walking on eggshells. It can happen anywhere anytime.

I live in Minneapolis, Minnesota which is a big(ish) city. Between Minneapolis and the neighboring capitol (St. Paul) in my state, we have a little under 3 million people, which definitely brings the crime rates up, and does make things like walking alone at night - scary! I don't mind it though. If you're concerned about crime that badly, perhaps consider moving into a *nicer* area in the city (when you live in a city, or at least for me, you begin to learn which areas are the projects/slums, and which are OK to live in) and preferably don't live off the highway or by bars if you can help it. You also of course need to take several different precautions to avoid becoming a victim of crime (sometimes it's unavoidable), but for example: car alarms are good ideas, locking your doors (car & home), not walking alone at night, and so on. It's a good life though, if you don't let paranoia drag you down! I love being in the center of everything, and I can get to pretty much anywhere in the Twin Cities in a 10-15 minute drive.

I don't know if there is but you just need to be extra careful if you are a lady and you need to go home at night. You cannot just say that a place or country has something to do with being safe if you cannot be so careful on your own. But what is important is that you secure your home with enough door lock and security system if in case your neighborhood is prone to burglars and such. Most important is you do pray to God for safety.

I live in a totally USELESS gated community... I mean if people wanted to walk through they could so the gate is pointless! However the area is nice and we hardly ever have break ins so I would say it's safe. That gate is total waste of time, yes, but I feel confident to walk around at night even though I am a young woman :)
