I thinks all of us have done this. In childhood and even now, sometime I pretend to sleep. My 8 month old child does not sleep easily in the night. So I just lie in bed close to her and pretend to sleep. If she find my eyes open she will laugh and start playing, so I just shut my eyes to make her sleep.

I have difficulties with my sleeping patterns so when someone tries to wake me up they better have a very good excuse as small talk can wait to the next day. It has happen one too many times so I have learned to pretend that I am asleep and normally the person goes away. Sure enough it must not have been important as I do not hear about it the next day.

Yes, I did.:) A lot of times actually. I do this for a very simple reason. I don't like to talk to whoever is that waking me up. Unfortunately, it is always my husband.:) Well, he often goes out too early and sometimes he'd kiss me before leaving which awakened me but I just pretended I did not feel his kiss and just let him go without a word. Yes, I am too cold but it is better this way. Sometimes, after making sure he closed the door behind him, I'll get up and look at him from the window until his car totally disappears. I also whisper take care, hon, in the air for him... :) This is also when we had a fight and I'm not ready to talk to him yet.:) I'd rather ignore him first than talking to him right away. Talking to him could trigger another argument.:) Silence and pretending to be asleep is the best way to avoid an unpleasant situation...

Yes, i have actually experienced this a lot of times already. And i did it on purpose. I just don't feel like waking up because the person who woke me up don't really have anything really important to say and because the person is not so important to waste my beautiful sleep. I really love to sleep so as much as possible, when i am sleeping i really stress my mom or my family members to never wake me up no matter how important it may be.

Yes, I've done that, too. Plenty of times. Most often with my mom, because she works abroad and when she's home, it takes a while for her to adjust her bio-clock. She wakes me up at ungodly hours just to chat and its kinda annoying. With other people I pretend to be still asleep if I don't feel like talking to the person, yet. Or I'm really still sleepy. Sometimes I just pretend to be asleep until they go away because I don't want to snap at them and be mean to them since I don't like being disturbed in my sleep.

We had an experience one New Year's Eve when some friends came over and my husband finally acted like he was passed out just to get them to leave. We had several couples over that night and one couple was acting a little strange for our taste, the man even grabbed my mom and kissed her at midnight. It was kind of freaking all of us out so my husband sat down on the couch and within a few minutes, he was out. As soon as they were out of sight he got back up and rejoined the party.

I never like to be disturbed from my sleep. I warn my kids not to wake me up unless there is an earthquake outside the house. Well, even if someone comes to my house when I am still in my dreamland, I will stay put in my room and pretend that I did not realize they are around.

Hi, SO far, when i was sleeping and someone wake me up in the middle of my sleep,I will faster wakeup and ask what is going on. I believe the person that wake me up must need my help then only he/she will do like this. Of course, I will be bit blurr at first, but after sit for a while, my mind is clear and I can help up that person.

I really love to sleep and yes I have experienced sleeping and while somebody was waking me up, I just pretended that I'm still asleep until that person walks away. I usually do that during weekends when I am so tired in school and then here comes my mother waking me up to give me some chores, I just pretended that I am heavily asleep until my mom walks away because she knows that I am tired.

haha I love doing that! I usually don't wait until they leave though, at least not completely. I think the reason I like to do it is because I like to surprise or scare people, or be completely still one moment and then suddenly burst to life and begin getting ready for the day. Funny topic. Reminded me of some good times.
