Many of us I guess prefer to be a speaker, adviser, talker, and so on. We lack of good listener actually. This brings me to question, do you need any good listener(s) in life, guys?

I think if you want somebody to listen to you, you must be a good listener! Listening to others is one of the most difficult soft-skills and you have to practice to train this skill. For example, if your friend tells you something, you will listen carefully and then analyze the information provided and response your friend. As a result, you'll always control the conversation.

I think if you are a good listener, you would know you're good or not. Just review and feel what you've done to people and the attitude of the people...

Yes, personally I need even only one good listener especially in my hardest moments. The listener helps you to ease your tension, to feel better. As for me I try to be a good listener, it helps my colleagues and friends who share their experience with me.If they feel calmer after my talk, that is really good for me-it makes me happy.

I am a horrible listener and i will tell you why. i feel really uncomfortable when people talk to me about there personal issues. i never tell people whats going on in my life so i tend to expect others to be like me. almost everybody i know loves to talk to me about their problems when they have absolutely no clue what im going through and believe me i can go through horrible things and no one has a clue. now im not saying that is good because its awful feeling all alone and wanting to be alone , i really wanna change.

oh yes, as you said before speaker, adviser, talker, and so on ... fair enough but at times everyone needs to be heard. Well if good listeners are needed or not, it's good to know that they are here.
