I am watching a show on the HISTORY CHANNEL called MODERN MARVELS. They are talking about technology from the 1980's. Of course, they are showing a section on video games and arcade games. According to the show, the inventor of the famous PAC-MAN games got his inspiration for the PAC-MAN character from a pizza that had a slice missing. I think that is pretty cool. It is amazing that a man could get what turned out to literally be a billion-dollar idea from a pizza. What do you think? I wish I were that creative...

Inspiration can come from anywhere. The trick is to act on your ideas. I thought of putting wheels on suitcases way before someone actually did it. I just didn't follow through. I think of that every time I see a wheeled suitcase going by.

I actually have an idea now that I thought of the other night, but I have no idea if someone is already doing it, or how I would go about producing and selling it. I have seen something similar to what I was thinking, but I don't know if anyone is selling the exact product.

That is great. I think that we all do have the potential to be that creative. The thing is that when we get ideas...we just think..awww....that's stupid....then go on..a year or two later that same thought has made someone else a billion..lol...I can not tell you the ideas I have had that I thought was a fleeting dumb thought and then seen it implemented a year or two down the road.

I have had this happen to me a few times as well. It is a little disheartening to say the least...

Pac-Man is one of the best video games that has ever been released. I don't think that I got to see that episode of Modern Marvels but I've heard somewhere else that pacman was inspired by pizza. The thing is that I think we all have the ability to be that creative but there are too many people that don't properly harness their creative energies.

As someone who is into gaming, I think that's pretty interesting. I bet that's one night that guy is glad he went out for pizza! lol. Just imagine, a single pizza with a single slice missing essentially spawned an endearing video game character who has not been forgotten twenty-five plus years later.

I had no idea where the idea for that came from, very interesting. Funny I just played MS PAC-MAN today at a little diner. I rarely get the opportunity, I played with my 7 yr old, she couldn't get past the first game, I got up to level 3-1 with an extra Ms PAC-MAN. I also ended up with the high score, not that it was really high but just under 20k so not bad for someone that hasn't played the game in years. To be that creative would be really awesome, I'd take just a 1/4 of that creativity. Thanks for sharing the trivia.
