Yes you heard it right friends, many of the educated but unemployed youth and some retired teachers and Professors have started this business. They open schools for kids and coaching centers for college students, hire services of some good teaches and professors. Once they become popular, they remove them and hire services of other teachers or professors, who do the job for very small amount. For the kids, they have ‘home services’; means they bring the kids from home and drop back, but see the ‘SCHOOL BUS’ in this picture, how the kids have been stuffed in to this paddled rickshaw. I got offers in the past to teach in some coaching centers, I denied straight. Do you have such schools and coaching centers in your place? Comment on the SCHOOL BUS in picture.Professor

In our area we have a few coaching or tutoring centers for children that are struggling and I think that it is a great thing. However, I think that people shouldn't have to pay extra money out of pocket for their child that is struggling at school. I really think that the schools should be the ones that are helping those children that are having problems at school because I think that all children have a right to education.

Hi doran I agree with you, it is govt's basic responsibility to provide free education to children, though the govt teachers are highly paid, some neglect the basic duty as teacher to teach..hence this business flourishes.. Thanks for sharing your views. Professor. . Cheers

Yes, there are many learning centers or learning courses in Indonesia. Some centers focus on foreign languages, and some other focus on school curriculum to help students understand more of the school subject. Public school teachers are mostly not patient when there are students asking for further explanation for a subject, and let them have a low mark in the class. So, parent have to be proactive and find these centers to help their children. Hence, it became famous and good business for some people.

hi Professor yes I think here they are called pilot schools as they take the youngsters who have had problems with discipline and some with just plain old poor self esteem. they use the best teachers and assiastnats and those kids do finally get a good education too. That school bus reallylooks too crowded, maybe there should be more of them for that many children.

dear professor, there are many schools now sprouting like mushrooms because there are so many children going to schools now and the schools are having a difficult time accommodating them. many schools are for starters - children ages 4 7. they are taught how to read and write, sometimes in day care centers. some teachers accept children who needed coaching and tutorials in math. some go to the house of the professor or the professor goes to their house but that has higher price. but nevertheless, we are happy of such an arrangement. thank you for this discussion. ann
